Hump Day

Happy Hump Day!

So not too much going on these days, which I guess is a good thing.

It's getting colder out and I. dont. like. it! Good thing I have hot flashes or I would be freezing all of the time!! It takes me forever to get my winter blood! Around the middle of December I start getting used to the cold. However, and I never thought I would say this, I am looking forward to the first snow that covers everything. It sure does look pretty.

Thanksgiving in only one week! This year we are gathering at my dad's house. We just use his house, he doesn't do anything but supply the tables and chairs. We do all of the cooking.

Then next Friday I plan on putting up the Christmas trees. Seems like I just took them down!

In other exciting news...my Christmas cactus bloomed!!

I brought this plant home from work over the summer. It was sitting there for years just growing bigger and bigger and not doing much else. I know that they need partial darkness to bloom and I had the perfect room. Our guest room never gets used because we never have guests so I thought it would put it in there and see if anything happens.

First I transplanted it into a bigger pot, where half of it promptly died and fell out! Seriously, I walked into the room and there was half of the plant on the floor! Anyway, I did not hold out much hope for it because I am not known for my green thumb, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw the buds forming!!

Anyway, it's very pretty and I makes me happy!

Have a good rest of the week!

  3. How pretty! We're going to start decorating this weekend. We're going to be gone for a week in early December, so we want to get it done early!

Oh, don't talk about snow. We had enough of it when we were in Churchill in late October! Sliding around with this artificial knee about gave me a heart attack!
