Yay! The Brenda Photo Challenge is back! This one is all about Memories! Most of my favorite memories involve Rich and the kids! Last Tuesday I called off of work because I did not sleep a wink...literally. So I'm just a little late on the Happy New Year wishes. We spent a very low key New Years Eve...barely staying awake until 12:00, and then hitting the decks because of all the gun shots going on outside! The Monday after Christmas was our work holiday so I was off. Rich had to work so I had the day to myself to run some errands. I did  something I've never done before. I took back a few gifts that we received from my son and daughter-in-law. Normally I don't like to do that but they included the gift receipts and it was stuff that we were never going to use so I figured it was no big deal.

Sunday was another beautiful weekend day. Sure did enjoy that extra hour of sleep that I actually managed to get! The second part of the painting project involved the front door. Here is a pic of what it used to look like. In it's day it was a beautiful, oak door. Actually, it still is on the inside. But years of weather exposure has done a job on the outside. Rich came home on Thursday. He's doing really, really good. He only takes Advil when he needs it, which has usually been only at night before bed. He can't lift anything heavier than an $100 bill (his surgeons words), can only eat small meals and he can't drive. Took my camera to work the other day. Riding the bus in the morning. I changed my parking situation by parking at a Park-n-Ride about two miles from the hospital. It's much easier than having wait for a parking spot or cram on the shuttle. Friday a new Salvation Army Family Store opened just a few blocks from my house. I was very happy to see this store coming because the little strip mall that it's located in has been 50% empty since the Farmer Jack grocery store and the CVS pharmacy closed about 4 years ago. Our metal detector has a numerical code that can tell us what we are looking for most of the time. For example a quarter is usually 112 or two quarters together are around 126.
