You Know What Day It Is

Thanksgiving was wonderful with a house full of people and a big long table in the living-dining room! It's a lot of work and I was exhausted, but it was worth every minute of it!

Slowly but surely the house is getting decorated for Christmas. In the past I have always made the day after Thanksgiving my official decorating day. I started that tradition when the kids were young to give them something to do on their school break. Kept it up for quite a few years, too. But the kids are grown and we are empty nesters, so the past few years I have been spreading the decorating over a few days. This year is the first year that I did not put anything up on the day after Thanksgiving and didn't even put the trees up until Sunday! I still have several boxes that I haven't even brought up from the basement. Slacker!

I love my Christmas tree and so does Max!

I've got my Christmas shopping about 50% done. A lot of it was online, although I did venture out on Sunday for a few hours. Years ago the stores would have been packed on a weekend, but not so much now. Makes it a lot easier to shop, but rather sad, too. This economy is taking it's toll everywhere.

Anyway, two more work days left till the weekend!

  2. I hear people say that won't put up a tree because they have a cat. I had a cat for 13 years==she never climbed the tree and just lay under it like your Max.

  4. What a pretty tree! We are being total slackers this year. We bought a beautiful poinsetta. THAT is the extent of our decorating, LOL! Since we are "camping" out in a rental, with most belongings packed up, we're not going to bother with all the work.

  5. Your tree is indeed beautiful. I am one of those people that Judy mentioned. My cat is basically still a kitten, and he is wild. I have had cats all my life, and I know this one would be at the top, knocking ornaments off in ten seconds.

I love your table. Oh how I wish I could get that many around my table! We just don't have room.

  7. We haven't put our tree up yet. Out kitten is 8 months old and I'm worried about the whole tree climbing thing. We have many old family ornaments and I would hate to lose them!
