Thanksgiving was wonderful with a house full of people and a big long table in the living-dining room! It's a lot of work and I was exhausted, but it was worth every minute of it!
Slowly but surely the house is getting decorated for Christmas. In the past I have always made the day after Thanksgiving my official decorating day. I started that tradition when the kids were young to give them something to do on their school break. Kept it up for quite a few years, too. But the kids are grown and we are empty nesters, so the past few years I have been spreading the decorating over a few days. This year is the first year that I did not put anything up on the day after Thanksgiving and didn't even put the trees up until Sunday! I still have several boxes that I haven't even brought up from the basement. Slacker!
I love my Christmas tree and so does Max!
I've got my Christmas shopping about 50% done. A lot of it was online, although I did venture out on Sunday for a few hours. Years ago the stores would have been packed on a weekend, but not so much now. Makes it a lot easier to shop, but rather sad, too. This economy is taking it's toll everywhere.
Anyway, two more work days left till the weekend!

ReplyDeletenice thanksgiving..
ReplyDeleteI hear people say that won't put up a tree because they have a cat. I had a cat for 13 years==she never climbed the tree and just lay under it like your Max.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend!! (I love your new profile picture!) **hugs**
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty tree! We are being total slackers this year. We bought a beautiful poinsetta. THAT is the extent of our decorating, LOL! Since we are "camping" out in a rental, with most belongings packed up, we're not going to bother with all the work.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is indeed beautiful. I am one of those people that Judy mentioned. My cat is basically still a kitten, and he is wild. I have had cats all my life, and I know this one would be at the top, knocking ornaments off in ten seconds.
ReplyDeleteI love your table. Oh how I wish I could get that many around my table! We just don't have room.
like your tree deco
ReplyDeleteA smile from SJ =)
We haven't put our tree up yet. Out kitten is 8 months old and I'm worried about the whole tree climbing thing. We have many old family ornaments and I would hate to lose them!
