February Photo A Day #28

Well, that's all for my photo a day series! What better way to end it than with a picture of my two favorite people!

This one was taken last Spring during T-ball season! It's my favorite picture of each of them!

Thanks for coming along for the month of pictures! I hope you all enjoyed seeing them as much as I enjoyed doing them! In the next post I'm going to address some comments and questions that I got over the month!

Until the next time stay safe and well my friends!

February Photo A Day #27

A few people on social media have mentioned how scarce wet cat food seems to be getting!

I took this picture of the cat food aisle at my local Kroger a few days ago. Luckily our 3 cats aren't too fussy about what brand they eat. Good thing because they aren't getting much of a choice right now anyway!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #26

A few days ago, when I posted the photo of the room with my treadmill a few people commented there should be a TV or something in that room to watch while I'm on it.

I don't have a TV so I stream stuff on my tablet. I can't imagine walking on the thing without watching something and it does make the time go faster!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #25

This is our niece, Ann and her husband Todd. Ann is Rich's sister Judy's oldest daughter.

When Rich and I started dating she was only a year old.

Two years ago today we lost this beautiful soul to metastatic breast cancer. She fought it for 7 years with more courage and grace than I have ever seen in any one in my life.  And that is no exaggeration. She was only 45 years old.

There isn't much more to say except how much we miss her.

See you tomorrow.

February Photo A Day #24

Last week while Rich was shoveling the snow off of our deck he saw what he thought could be a coyote or a wolf (LOL) running up our sidewalk. He scrambled into the house real quick and shut the door!

Turns out it was this beautiful Huskey who had escaped from her house down the street! Her name is Kona and she wanted in our house real bad!

Luckily, I posted a notice and this picture on our community FB page and her owner came and got her pretty quick!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #23

Rich and I took an overnight trip to New Buffalo MI earlier this week.  I always have to take a quick look at Lake Michigan while we are there.

I couldn't get all the way to the lake because of piled up snow and ice. This is off a little inlet in the city park beach. You can see the lake was pretty rough! Even though it was windy it wasn't really cold, at least not enough to stop me from walking up to the water for this picture!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #22

This is Ginger. She is the last dog we ever owned.

We went to the Michigan Humane Society and asked to see a dog that had been there for a long time.  That is how we found Ginger who was 10 months old at the time. She was all ears and paws! She was completely housebroken and already knew how to sit, stay and shake both paws! Someone worked a lot with her and then surrendered her because they were "moving"!

She was the best dog and also the last dog because when she got old and sick and we had to help her over the rainbow bridge, it just about killed me!

I still miss her!

See you tomorrow!

P.S Happy 2-22-22!

February Photo A Day #21

This is the other side of my office/craft/exercise room.

It's a little neater because it's where my treadmill lives and I use it every day in the winter. That little cart from Ikea holds a bunch of craft supplies.

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #20

This is my messy office/craft room/exercise room.

It's also the room that is where stuff gets put when there's nowhere else to put it! Next up I'll show you the other side!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #19

This was the most popular ice carving at the Plymouth Ice Festival last week.  It was outside a restaurant called EG Nicks.

It was a chair carved out of ice! People were standing in line to have their picture taken sitting in it!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #18

Downtown Plymouth recently had their annual Ice Festival.   There were ice carvings in front of the businesses all over town.

This was outside Your CBD Store. It was sponsored by the Rotary Club. There was one that was particularly popular, and I will show you that one in my next post.

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #17

This is Max.

This is the last of our three cats and sibling to Coco. He's scared to death of the vacuum cleaner, and this is his favorite place to hide when it's running. Under the bathroom vanity!

For all his tough picking on his sister he's really just a scaredy cat!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #16

This is the display chalkboard at work.

This was created by Janise, one of the employees who also happens to be a local artist. She's painted murals all over Plymouth. I think she's super talented and always does such a nice job!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #15

I am not a person who has to have designer clothes or shoes or anything with a particular label on it. What few designer items I do own have been bought from a thrift store or garage sale.

About 15 years ago I bought this handbag at a garage sale for $10.

It's a vintage Coach crossbody called a Rambler.  A lady was selling it for her daughter who had moved out and wanted her to get rid of whatever she left.  It's genuine because I had it checked out.

I've seen these on sale online for anywhere from $150 to $325. I'm not selling it though.

I've been using it for years because it's the perfect size for a crossbody and great for traveling and such.

I want to restore it soon and have been watching videos on how to do it.

As a side note: A few years ago I purchased a knock-off Louis Vuitton handbag at a flea marked for $5 and sold it at my garage sale a few months later for $50.

I could do that for a living!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #14

 This is Coco.

Coco is the only cat we allow to sleep in the bedroom with us. She's the only female cat and the other two males have a tendency to pick on her during the night, so our bedroom is her safe haven!

This picture was taken by booklight!

P.S. Happy Valentine's Day

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #13

This is the salad I usually get when we got to a restaurant by our house called The Honey Tree.

It's called a Melinzana Salad. Its romaine lettuce, grilled eggplant, roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, tomatoes and feta cheese. Topped with a balsamic dressing. Yummy!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #12

I finally took my Equinox in to repair the ding caused by my neighbor across the street when he backed out of his driveway into it.

Here is the rental car that his insurance company paid for.

It's a Nisson Altima. I have been driving SUV's for so long that driving in a car now feels like I'm sitting right on the road! It was clean when I got it but the roads right now are slushy and dirty! No car stays clean for long! It is a pretty blue, though!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #11

If you are a woman over 40 then you know what this is.

Last Wednesday it was my annual date with this machine! After I took the picture the tech had to look at it to make sure there wasn't any information on it that would violate HIPPA. I told her it was to show my husband but really it was to use here for my daily photo!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #10

This is Smudge, my lap cat.

Every night when I sit down to watch TV, he lays on my lap. If I get up for anything he just stands there and waits for me to come back.  When I get up to go to bed he sleeps in the warm spot that I left!

If I stay up too late he walks back and forth across my lap like he's telling me to get up he wants to go to sleep in my spot!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #9

This picture was taken January 13, 1973 the day after my 16th birthday.

My mom took me and 5 of my friends to a fancy restaurant called Topinka's for lunch to celebrate.

That's me in the back on the right.

My gorgeous friend Karen is in the front in the pink coat. We have been friends since we were 7 years old and still get together occasionally.

The girl on the left in the plaid coat is Debbie. She was my maid of honor at my wedding. We lost touch but recently connected via Facebook.

The girl in the front in the red dress is Dottie. I have no idea what happened to her!

The girl in the middle is Ilona. She is the girl I mentioned in my Quitting Smoking post who died of lung cancer at 58 years old.

Last but not least the girl in the dark hair next to me is my friend Celia. She lives in Florida and has a dog sanctuary called Mr. Lucky Dogs Sanctuary. I last saw her a few years ago when I went to Florida for her 60th birthday. We talk and text occasionally.

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #8

You didn't think I would let all this time go by without posting a picture of my grandsons, did you?

Shauna and Brad went up north to Lewiston, MI to visit Brads cousin who bought a house on a lake. The boys had fun playing in the snow!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #7

Last Wednesday we had approximately 10 inches of snow. On Thursday the roads were not too bad so I went to work.  Then it snowed another inch while I was at work and it was blowing and cold so the snow was freezing on the cars.

Rich stopped by there about a half hour before I got off so he could warm up my car and clean the snow and ice off!

He's a good guy!!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #6

This was a selfie I took at work during the last month I was there.

It's so funny that because half of my face was covered I think it's the best selfie I've ever taken!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #5

In the Summer of 2020 we visited my son Chris and his girlfriend in Chester, NH.  This is a picture of the dining area of their house.

The whole house is like rustic/bohemian theme decorated. I really liked it.

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #4

 This is Zoe

We had her for 17 years. She was the only cat we ever had that wanted nothing to do with the other cats. She spent pretty much her whole life avoiding them! She only liked us and she was the sweetest, most affectionate cat we ever owned.

She got very sick about 3 months after we moved to where we are now and we had to help her cross the rainbow bridge.

I still miss her but what I miss most are those gorgeous eyes!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #3

It's been cold and snowy here for the last month so here's a picture from warmer days!

This is the view of Lake Manuka from the porch of the Airbnb we stayed in over the summer.

If I look long enough, I can almost feel the warm breeze coming off of the lake!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #2

I've had these photos in this frame for many years.

That is Rich's mom and dad on the left and my parents on the right.

Rich's mom moved by herself from Ironwood, Michigan to Detroit, approximately 600 miles, and met his dad on the streetcar where he was a driver.

My mom was a typist in an office in Detroit and my dad was the elevator operator.

Don't they all look so young and happy?

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #1

It's February and time for my annual February Photo A Day posts!

This will be my 3rd year of doing this! I was going to have a theme but I think I will just post random pictures either from my photo albums or my phone.

Let's get started!

We'll start with an old one! This is me, my parents and my brothers. Although the date on top is January 1962, this picture was actually taken on Christmas 1961. My mom birthed 4 children in 5 years so she probably was pretty frazzled most of the time! Even so, she sure was pretty!

See you tomorrow!

Phone Photo Dump

Time for another purge of the photos I collect on my phone!  The boys were playing with kinetic sand and it is a little oily.  Levi left hi...
