Moving On to Christmas

Thanksgiving was fun. We had 10 people here: my brother and sister-in-law and their two boys. Shauna, Brad, Maxwell and Levi and me and Rich. I made a turkey breast instead of a whole turkey this year.  Everyone seems to only like the white meat so it was just enough. I was able to send a little home with everyone and had some left over for turkey sandwiches the next day!

Of course, I didn't take any pictures! I didn't even think to! I really have to get better at remembering that!

We did give the boys their personalized ornaments.

I try to gear them to reflect the past year and what they are into. I'm not sure how much they are into school but that was their life this past year!

Yes, they call Rich "Bonk!" I'm not sure how it started but we thought it was adorable when Maxwell first said it, so it stayed!

I got our tree up right in time for Thanksgiving.

Hanging ornaments is not my favorite thing to do so I put the tree up last Friday and just hung a few ornaments a day until they were all on by Thursday!

Shauna put her's up too and the boys helped.

She did take some of the more fragile ornaments and hung them higher than the boys could reach.

She's going to leave it just the way it is!

I thought this looked pretty.

It's the reflection on the wall at work of some product display and the little trees we have on the counter. I thought it made an interesting shadow.

Lastly, this is my newest ornament for my miniature tree.

I'll post a picture as soon as I get it all put together.

I've been working a lot this month! The girl that was out on medical is coming back on Friday so I will go back to my 2-3 day schedule next week.

The extra in my paycheck has been nice but it will be nice to have the time off again!

Until the next time stay safe and well my friends!

This, That and The Other

I certainly enjoyed the beautiful Fall we had but it's also certainly over now!

Today it was snowing for the second time this month and even stuck a little on the grass This Saturday the low is going to be 8! It takes me forever to get my "winter blood" so I'm freezing!  Oh well, at least I'm here to enjoy it!

My friend Marie and I were in the bathroom in Kohl's last week and I commented that my age seems to have suddenly landed on my face in the past 6 months. New wrinkles and sags on my eyelids!  Some lady commented as she was coming out of one of the stalls that I should be thankful that I was here to see my face in the mirror! I agreed and said every morning that my feel land on the floor is a good day! What I didn't say is that my conversation with my friend was none of her business!

Anyway.....I saw this on a gas pump the other day.

I've seen them online but this was the first one I saw in the wild as I was filling my gas tank to the tune of $50! Rich went to the same gas pump the next day and half of the sticker was scraped off!

I plan on putting my Christmas tree up sometime this weekend. I am hosting Thanksgiving for about 10-12 people and I want to have it up by then. Here's what I wrote on the box last year.

It's a 7.5 foot tree and it's way too tall for me to stand on a ladder and lean over it to attach the bow that I use as a tree topper. Last year I ended up taking the top off the tree to attach it. Also, it's much easier to put the garland on first to avoid knocking the ornaments off in the process!

Janisse redid the board at work for the holidays

She does such a nice job and is so talented! Customers are always commenting on how pretty the board is.

Saw this on a walk I took last week.

What can I say? Us Michiganders love the shape of our state, I guess!

I will be babysitting the boys a few mornings this week because Shauna and Brad are going to parent teacher conferences. And so it begins for them!

Until the next time stay safe and well, my friends!

Halloween Fun

Walking around trick or treating is one of my favorite things to do with Maxwell and Levi. Walking along leaf covered sidewalks reminds me so much of walking with my kids when they were little. This year the weather was perfect for walking around and the rain even held off until after 8:00.

This blurry picture was the only one I got of the boys in their costumes.

There were a couple of fun things to see like this pumpkin.

People are pretty clever!

I think the highlight of the night for me was this, though.

This cat in a dragon costume was greeting everyone who came to the door! SO cute!!

One of the houses had this skeleton bird on their deck.

Skeleton animals and birds are a big thing this Halloween, I guess!

And lastly, school pictures are in!

Levi Pre-school on top and Maxwell Kindergarten on bottom.

They grow too fast!!

Until the next time stay safe and well my friends!

Phone Photo Dump

Time for another purge of the photos I collect on my phone!  The boys were playing with kinetic sand and it is a little oily.  Levi left hi...
