Sunday I went to an estate sale that was down a long dirt road and it had been raining so my car got all muddy!
Estate sale season is coming to an end and they are getting fewer and fewer. This was a pretty good sale and I went on the last day so everything was 50% off.
This was the house.
This dining set was pretty, although not really my style. It was from Pier One and it was priced at $300. All the prices I post are with the 50% off.
I thought these glasses were kind of neat.
They had covers that also served as coasters! $4 for the set.
Estate sales in these wealthier neighborhoods always have at least one fur coat.
This little jacket was $25. Big difference from what they probably paid for it!
This was an interesting picture.
Not sure the meaning but whatever. It was $7.50
I liked this sign
It was $3.
Pretty family room.
The whole lower level has these beautiful wood floors.
This Coach bag was pretty large and in nice shape.
It was $50. I seriously considered it but decided to think on it while I walked the rest of the house. Of course, by the time I got back it was gone!
Looking back now it was a little too big for me and the handles looked too short! Better I lost out than have buyer's remorse!
The house had a nice, finished basement and bar.
Here was a kit to make your own whiskey!Only $10!
Here's what I bought.
This picture holder stand thingy and of course I can't resist a pretty box!
Total spent: $1
In other news, we had the boys overnight and Levi wanted me to teach him how to sew.
He did pretty good and made a couple simple bags to give to his mom and dad!
That's it for now. Hopefully I will be able to post a couple more estate sales posts before the season is over for the winter.
In the meantime, take care and thanks for stopping by!

I have several of those boxes, which I use for storing photographs.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that Levi wanted to learn to sew! $50 for a Coach bag is a steal if it was in excellent condition, but yeah, those straps would have been too short for me. I don't want to hand carry my purse.
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteI have a pretty box that I store my mom’s paperdolls in. I’d like to get some more to hold old photographs, just haven’t gotten around to it.
ReplyDeleteHello Jeanette,
ReplyDeleteWe have never been to an estate sale but if we lived anywhere near one, then we would probably give it a try. It does seem rather sad that what once was a home is opened to strangers to pore over the things just abandoned in situ. However, it did look as if there were plenty of bargains to be had. The vintage fur jacket caught our eye.
How cool that you got to teach him sewing!! I bet this is something he will always remember. I love what you bought! I always have trouble resisting going to the end to see what you got! That dining room set is not my style either, too many curlicues and too black. I love the tall windows in the family room!!
ReplyDeleteNice big kitchen and love the big windows.
ReplyDeleteIf you are referring to the picture with the words, Be still and know. It is the first part of a Bible verse, Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God.
Yes I knew that. It's one of my favorite bible versus. Looking back I wish I would have bought it!
DeleteThat looks like a nice house. You got some real bargains.
ReplyDeletePresley wanted to learn how to use my sewing machine too. She never actually made anything before moving on to something else though.
Lovely photos, and it looks like you got some great deals.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that I recognized that dining set from Pier One; in our last house, we had a Pub Table in the same style, also from Pier One. (I miss Pier One!)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a nice house and going on the 50% off day is smart on your part.
I love that Levi wants to learn how to sew, just like his Grandma!

I love all of the natural light in that house.
ReplyDelete50.00 for a coach bag is awesome but yes, those straps really are short.
I love nice boxes so good score on that and how awesome your grandson wants you to teach him to sew. I remember my grandmother teaching me. Have a good week.
I have some pretty boxes like the one you bought, and that hanging thingy is neat, too. Easy to change out whatever you clip onto it. I like stuff like that. I also like the fact that you got useful things at such a low price!!
ReplyDeleteThe house itself is gorgeous. I'm at a place in life where such a house is much more than I need or can keep up, but it sure is pretty to look at.
