The Other Estate Sale

This next sale I went to was at this tri-level house

It was not for sale, but Zillow estimated it at $463,000. I think mostly because it sits on a beautiful 2.5 acres.

It was outdated but not too bad.

The kitchen

The lower-level laundry area was the nicest part of the house.

This door was a little creepy to me.

For comparison I am 5" 1" and this door was shorter than me! Yeah, they didn't have to worry about me entering!

I haven't seen one of these in a while.

It was the last day and everything was 50% off. This was $5.

This bracelet was pretty.

It was $17.50. I just don't need another bracelet I don't wear! The earrings were pretty but they were clip-on.

There wasn't a lot of interesting stuff but I did manage to buy one thing.

This little pool table! I thought the boys would like to play with it. It was priced at $2.50 but they gave it to me for $2.

I'm going to check back in the Spring but my guess is whoever bought or buys this house will tear it down and build a new one on the lot.

In other news

My younger brother Tom and SIL Debbie will be heading to Myrtle Beach for the winter in a week, so we all got together for dinner at a restaurant called Deadwood.

From the left: Brothers Tom, Don and Jim, SIL Linda, SIL Helen, me, SIL Debbie and Rich.

That's all for now.

See you the next time. Take care and thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hello Jeanette,

There do seem to be a number of bargains at these estate sales. However, as you say, one can well be tempted by the low prices to buy things that one really does not want or need.

The restaurant seems very aptly named for the season....

  4. That laundry room looks like a second kitchen if not for the washer and dryer. And what is behind that little door?! Very Halloweeny.
Nice that you got together with your brothers and SILs. Nice photo of y'all.

  6. Ha I just posted about using my old push type lawnmower as garden art. I want to get it more old and rusty looking.
That’s what so many do here - they spend a million dollars to buy a home in the neighborhood they desire, then tear it down to rebuild a McMansions. It’s all about location location location.

  9. That pool table is cute I bet the boys will have fun with that. I would guess that the little door goes to a crawl space of some kind.
Nice that you were able to get together with family before they leave. I sure wish I could go somewhere warmer for the winter.
