Happy New Year

Well, to say this year flew by is an understatement! The wedding took up the first  half of the year and I don't know what happened to the rest!!

Christmas  Eve was spent at my older brothers house. A fun time with laughter and lots of good food! So much that I didn't take any pictures!

Christmas Day was spent at Chris and Marissa's house with her fun family! More laughter and good food and no picture taking!

Then on Sunday we had the kids over for a Christmas brunch. I love that we always do that a few days after Christmas. No one has to be anywhere else and it's so nice and relaxing!

I'm loving my trees this year and hate to take them down!

We had a snow storm last week and this happened at a gas station I pass on my way to work. In case it's hard to tell the whole canopy fell over! I hope no one got hurt!!

Tonight I am having a few people over for a small New Years Party and to celebrate Rich's 60th birthday which is January 4th.

Got the candles all ready to go!!

You all have a safe New Years Eve and I'll be back in 2016!

Until then....

Stuff At Dad's

Well, I have decided after the disappointing sale at my dads house earlier that I will be bringing all the stuff to my house to try to sell at the Spring sale my subdivision always has. It's going to be a lot of work, but there is some good, sellable stuff that it would be a shame to just donate.

Plus I want to get the extra money for my dad!

He has a lot of old stuff and I thought I would show you some of it.

Like this old set of suitcases.

I'm pretty sure they were given to my parents for a wedding gift in 1954. They have my mothers initials on them. We used them all my life whenever we traveled.

One of them even has stickers on them from places we've been.

My grandparents owned a bar in Detroit for years. I have lots of good memories of going there and twirling on the bar stools and drinking glasses and glasses of coke!

This is the adding machine they use to add up peoples tabs! I think it got a lot of use!

This old projector that we spent many, many hours watching home movies with !

And my grandmothers old corner china cabinet. I can remember standing in my tiptoes trying to reach the key that sticks out of the door!

Shauna is going to take that when my dad moves. It think it has a lot of potential!

My family is big on keeping stuff in the family so we have lots of family heirlooms! I hope our kids appreciate them as much as we do!

Until the next time.....

What's Going On

I'm not surprised to see how  infrequently I posted this year. Seems that time gets away from me and before I know it, it's almost a month since my last post! I thought after the wedding I would post more but apparently not. Oh well, my New Year resolution is to try to post at least once a week!

Anyway, since I last left you this is what I have been doing.

Shauna and I got our crafty on the week before Thanksgiving. This is what we made:

Mine:

Shauna's

It's a little hard to tell from the picture but Shauna sprayed hers with sparkle, which explains why it's outside!

We had 29 people here for Thanksgiving. Chris and Marissa did not make it because she had a kidney stone but pretty much the rest of the family was there! Lots of work but worth it! I even found a perfect bottle of coke to have at the beverage station!

My friend Marie gave me some beads that she found that match perfect with a skirt she has and she asked me to make her a bracelet.

I had so many beads left over that I made her a necklace and earrings, too

Got most of the decorating up for Christmas.

One fireplace has my collection of snowmen and the other has my collection of mini Christmas trees.

And speaking of mini Christmas trees...here is my latest one.

Although I swore I was not going to buy any more Christmas decorations, this was on sale at Michael's for 50% off! How could I pass that up?

The family festivities are not at our house this year but I think I will be having a New Year party/Birthday party for Rich who will be turning the big 6-0 in January 4th!

This weekend will be spent Christmas shopping because as usual I am behind with no clue what to get anyone!

Until the next time.....

Phone Photo Dump

Time for another purge of the photos I collect on my phone!  The boys were playing with kinetic sand and it is a little oily.  Levi left hi...
