A lot of her jewelry was distributed among family members after she died but some of it is still in here, along with a few of my pieces.

It was a beautiful day last Sunday. We decided to take a walk in Maybury  State Park. It used to be a sanatorium long ago. There were 40 buildings at one time. There's only 3 left and they are used for park offices.



It was sunny and 52 degrees!

We visited Rich's sister who is in a nursing home and this lady was holding a mechanical cat.

It was meowing, turning it's head, lifting it's paw and blinking. They also have mechanical dogs and babies. They bring a lot of comfort to the residents, while my sister in law wanted nothing to do with any of them!

It was a beautiful, sunny day on Saturday and up to 44 degrees. We went to visit my SIL in Romeo MI which is about a hour's drive from us. We also made a stop at the Rome Cemetery where my in-laws are buried.

And my other sister in law's ashes are buried right behind the gravestone.

It was covered in snow! I had to dig it out with my foot.

This is the china tea set my dad sent to my grandmother from "Occupied Japan" in 1952 or 1953 when he was serving in the Korean War.

My grandmother gave it to me when she moved out of her house and into a senior citizen apartment many years ago.

I don't think it has ever been used to serve tea, though! I am always afraid I will break something!

Yesterday I showed you magnets on the front of our refrigerator. Here is the side.

These magnets are from out of the country. Most of them from stops on our cruises but some are from my son-in-law who travels for work. He's been to London, Germany and Vietnam not to mention all over the US.

I've been off all this week and spending a lot of time with my daughter and grandsons.

We took the kids to a play place called Tiny Tots yesterday. Here they are playing in the ball pit.

Or what I like to call a cesspool of germs!

Got the oil changed in my Equinox on Saturday.

Along with the oil change I got a bottle of water, 2 suckers, form to sendin for  $15 towards the next oil change and a coupon for a free car wash!

I took advantage of the car wash  because my car was filthy!

This is the courtyard at work. It's closed for the winter because they don't maintain it.

Maybe they need to lock the door because as you can see from the footprints in the snow, no one pays attention to the sign!

My favorite place lately.

The local library. I get two books every two weeks. It takes me that long to read two books because I only read them at night before bed. I don't take them to work because they are too bulky to carry, and I keep my kindle at work and read whatever free books I can get with Amazon Prime.

My new favorite little thing.

This nifty little book light. Rich got it for me for my birthday last month. Last time I used a book light it was the kind that used batteries, and they didn't last long.

This one is rechargeable and has LED lights so it lasts for up to 40 hours.

These are  not the actual books. Most of them are from eBay a few years ago when I went through a phase of collecting childhood memories.

One of my jobs in the pathology department is to send glass pathology slides out to other hospitals and medical centers for patient's desiring 2nd opinions on their diagnosis.

Normally we send 5-10 slides per case. This particular one had 63 slides I had to send!

Rich took this photo the other morning of the beautiful sky in the late afternoon. 

I'm pretty much over snow but I have to admit it can make a pretty scene sometimes! This almost looks like the sun is setting on mountains! I wish! 

The tracks on the lawn are from the kids waiting for the bus. They made a race track or something!

My orchid is finally getting another stem about a year and a half after the original two stems with blooms died.

I have no clue what I'm doing with this thing! I figures as long as the leaves were green it had a chance so I water it once a week and finally it paid off!

My goofy Thanksgiving cactus has one bloom coming!

It used to only bloom once a year at Thanksgiving, then last year it bloomed in the Spring also.

Can't figure this thing out!

Shauna and Brad got me a cast iron skillet for my birthday.  Never owned one and never cooked on one.

Made these pork chops by following a you tube video.

They were good..could have been a little more tender. Next time I'll use bone-in ones.

Ok Here goes I'm going to post a photo every day in the month of February. I did it a few years ago and enjoyed it a lot. The photos will not necessarily be from that day every time but this one is from my grocery shopping today

I always return my cart to the cart return areas and always on the proper side!
