February Photo A Day #28

Here we are at the final February Photo A Day post! What better way to end it than with a Estate Sale! They are rare this time of year, so I was glad to see the sign for this one!

And bonus, you get a bunch of pictures instead of just one!

This is the house. I didn't take a lot of pictures of the inside. It needed much updating! Whoever buys this house has a lot of work to do! I did see some interesting things though.

I really liked the two iron pieces on this fireplace. I have nowhere in my house to put them so I didn't buy them.

I thought this table was cute for an entryway. It was marked $60.

They were asking $150 for this antique bike. Pass!

And $300 for this old treadle sewing machine. It's exactly like mine from my grandmother!

I thought this mural was pretty on the stairs to the basement.

More golf clubs!

Here's the only thing I bought! These tablecloth weights for $1. They will come in handy when Rich and I go metal detecting and have a picnic at the park!

Well, thanks for coming along with me this month! I have to admit I struggled a bit keeping up this time. Probably because things are pretty uneventful around here right now! Hope you enjoyed it anyway!

See you the next time!

February Photo A Day #27

When we had the ice storm last week this is what the trees looked like on my way home from work.

I love the way they look coated with ice like that!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #26

About a mile from our house they are building a huge mansion.

I pulled over on my way past it to snap this picture. Of course, it's hard to tell how big it really is but it's set back quite a ways from the road. An address posted at the entrance says it's a private drive and is named Lid@ Palace. I googled the name and it's a luxury resort hotel in Italy.

Got to wonder who is building this house!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #25

The ice storm the other day coated everything outside in ice.

Gave everything on our deck a little lacy trim! Fancy!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #24

I saw this truck parked outside of work.

Looks like a chimney coming out of the hood! Rich says it's probably a bypass to get air to the carburetor. That would be so the car can go in deep water and not ruin it. Maybe so as it looks like there are waves painted underneath!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #23

The boys spent the night last week.

They had fun showing Bonk how to build Lego houses and Maxwell even incorporated some Legos into his kinetic sand!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #22

When my friend Marie and I go shopping and either one of us tries on clothes, we take a selfie to show the other one what it looks like (versus walking out of the fitting room.)

I recently tried this top on and took this picture to show her. And yes, I did buy it!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #21

I took one of my dresser drawers out to straighten it and Coco immediately jumped in the empty space!

She looks like she's wondering how she's going to get down now!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #20

Rich got me this cute mini orchid for Valentines Day.

You water it with one ice cube once a week but our ice cubes are twice the size of the little pot, so I have to use a tablespoon of crushed ice!

I especially love the little cat planter.

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #19

I got to bring home one of Maxwells daily sentences he writes in school. This one is special!

In case you can't read it :) it says, "Nonnie came over 2 days ago. I was happy"

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #18

We dropped our cable a few months ago and to get our local channels we use an antenna. The one we use is pretty old and not getting signals very well anymore, so....

We stepped back about 7 decades and put aluminum foil on the antennas! It actually works pretty well until we get a replacement!

See you tomorrow!

Saw these at Kroger, too.

I don't know about you, but these don't sound good at all to me!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #16

Levi and I took a selfie when we were waiting for Maxwell to get out of school.

Look how cute he is!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #15

Recently we went to one of the casinos in Detroit. They were giving away this Jeep.

We don't go there often enough to get enough entries to even have a chance of winning it, but I thought the display was pretty neat!

See you tomorrow!

 Happy Valentine Day!

Kroger had and endless supply of balloons and flowers! Plus, candy on another aisle!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #13

Why are some shampoo and conditioner bottles like this?

If you stand the bottle on the lid so the product stays by the opening then the shampoo bottle label is upside down.

It's a mystery to me and one of the important things I ponder when I can't sleep at night!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #12

 Does anyone else do this?

In the Winter, after I bake something, I always leave the oven door propped open a little to let the heat escape into the house while the oven is cooling down. Hey, we need all the heat we can get!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #11

Maxwells kindergarten teacher has them write a sentence every day freehand. This time he was to draw tracks in the snow and explain what animal the tracks belonged to.

I think we have a budding poet!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #10

Back in the late nineties I worked with a girl that made fairy chairs out of sticks and other little things. She made this little chair and table for me for my birthday one year.

The chair is bout 4 inches tall and the table half the size.

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #9

Also seen at the Ice Fest was this iced coffee mug!

The top was filled with coffee beans and by the time the Ice Fest was over they were almost all gone!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #8

Last weekend was the annual Plymouth Ice Fest. I worked both Friday and Saturday nights. The store wasn't too busy but it sure was busy outside! There is a restaurant across the street called EG Nicks. Every year they have a bar carved from ice on their patio.

I took this picture when the restaurant was closed but it was a very popular place to be both nights!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #7

Back when our cat Smudge got suddenly very sick and we knew it was his time, it was after hours on a Friday night. We knew he wasn't going to make it through the night without a lot of suffering so we had to find an emergency vet.  We found a place that turned out to be heaven sent. They were wonderful from the first phone call to the time we left after it was over.

The following week we received this card in the mail.

Signed by the whole staff.

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #6

Recently we lifted the mattress and box spring on our bed to clean underneath. It's where we store our card table and 4 chairs.

It was our cat Smudge's favorite hiding place when people were over that he didn't know. Needless to say, we vacuumed more cat hair up in just that one spot than we get in the whole house!

Then we placed the table and chairs in a position for easy retrieval before we put the mattress and box spring back down.

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #5

We had a big snow and Shauna and the boys built a snowman. I like how they used their Bristle blocks to make the eyes and mouth!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #4

Although Estate Sales are few and far between right now my friend and I did manage to fine one recently. I thought this phone was very unique. I didn't think the price was bad at $10 either but of course I didn't buy it.

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #3

Empty toilet paper rolls are a great way to store charging cords and other things.

And if you're semi-organized like me, you reinforce them with clear packing tape and label them!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #2

Today we are going waaayyyy back!

This is my grandparents on their wedding day. They were married on October 15,1927.

If this picture doesn't scream the 1920's, I don't know what does!

See you tomorrow!

February Photo A Day #1

Welcome to my 3rd annual February Photo A Day posts, where I post a picture every day for the month of February. They may be current or old or very old, depending on whatever I feel like that day. Let's get started and I hope you enjoy them!

Every Christmas Shauna and I make cookies together and every year she gets me a cooking related ornament.

This is the one she got me this year!

It's much prettier than it looks in the picture! I love it!

See you tomorrow!

Phone Photo Dump

Time for another purge of the photos I collect on my phone!  The boys were playing with kinetic sand and it is a little oily.  Levi left hi...
