Puzzles

Note: For those of you who commented that they did not know what a golden birthday was it's when you turn the same age as the date of your birthday. I'm pretty sure everyone who reads this blog has already had their golden birthdays. Mine was when I was 12 because my birthday was January 12th, Rich's was when he was 4, Shauna's was when she turned 11 and Chris's was when he turned 27. Brad's was when he turned 23 and Levi is the only one that hasn't had his yet!

Anyway, on with the show!

After never really being puzzle people Rich and I have been doing a lot of them lately. They are a good stress reliever and there is an abundance of them at work that I have been borrowing.

We usually stick to 300-500 piece puzzles because we like to get them done fairly quickly.

Anyway, here is a collection of puzzles we have done. Because they are used and from work some of them have missing pieces!

These first two I bought at a garage sale.

These next two were fun because we started at the top and did row by row all the way down.

This was fun with its irregular border.

This bottom one I actually got for Christmas. It's one of my favorites. I considered glueing it together and framing it.

Who knows how long we will keep doing puzzles but for now we are enjoying it!

See you next time and thanks for stopping by!

  2. Middle Child and I love doing puzzles in the winter on our dining room table. But we do 1000-2000 pieces, so only get 2 done before it’s time to pack up and get ready for Easter. I have glued and hung many puzzles in our basement. It’s not a finished basement, we just painted the concrete blocks white, so the puzzles look colorful hanging down there.

  3. We used to do puzzles all of the time but haven't for a while. When TBG had his surgery last May I brought out a new one we've had and it was really good for him to keep his mind off of everything. They are good stress relievers. So now he usually has one going all the time.

  4. I enjoy jigsaw puzzles, but there's not a spot in our living area to leave a table out.

  6. Gee I missed my golden birthday - It was when I was 2. And I missed my sons as well. Oh well. This just wasn’t a thing around me. It does sound fun.

  9. How fun. You've done a lot of puzzles. I like them all and the one with the different shape is really cool.
Thanks for explaining about golden birthdays. I had never heard of that before. I guess mine was when I was 21.

  10. Puzzles are too tedious for me but my mother loved them and I bought her some really nice ones in the last few years of her life. They can be expensive so aren't you clever for finding ones at work and giving them a new chance to shine! And it's cool that you and Rich do them together. Maybe I should give puzzles a chance, hahaha! xoxo

  11. Some really nice puzzles there. I've never done an irregular border one. Something new to try.
    We do puzzles every winter.

  12. Isn't it a shame that we all have our golden birthdays by the time we hit 31?
I love puzzling---but I find the smaller ones, or anything less than 1k are too easy for me.
