Last week I decided to clean my oven which was much needed! We took the door off for easier access and when we tried to put it back on one of the hinges broke. It was always a little wonky whenever we would take the door off and I think this time was the last straw!
I ordered the part from Whirlpool.com first and then found it on Amazon for $20 cheaper so I cancelled the Whirlpool order. It should get here between Wednesday and Sunday. In the meantime, the oven is wide open. The pink duct tape is to hold the button in so the light stays off! We tried to take the bulb out but it wouldn't budge!
See you tomorrow!
That sounds like something that would happen to me. My oven definitely could use a good cleaning. I watched a video the other day about how to easily clean the door. When I looked at my oven it was totally different than the one in the video. Probably because mine is ancient.
ReplyDeleteYour experience is why I never take the door off the oven.
ReplyDeleteOh my! I know you can take the door off and have thought about that - my oven could use it! But I was always afraid something like this would happen.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer. Do you use your oven much?
ReplyDeleteNot too much. It's the first time I've cleaned it and it's 6 years old!
DeleteOh. no, at least you found an inexpensive fix. My oven is a self cleaning one and does a great job so I don't have to clean it. :)
ReplyDeleteMine is too I'm just afraid to use it!
DeleteI thought about taking the door off a few months ago when I cleaned mine but I was afraid to. I'm glad I didn't because I could see this happening to me.
