Vacation Part 2 The Ship

The next day, Sunday, was the day to board the ship.

The Wonder of the Seas is RCCL's 2nd biggest ship, soon to be the 3rd this summer when they roll out Star of the Seas. When I say the thing was massive it's no exaggeration!

When we were on the shuttle to Cape Canaveral as we were getting to the port there were a bunch of cruise ships, each one bigger than the last. Looking for our ship I honestly thought it was a building when it first came into view!

It was hard to get a good picture while on the shuttle but here it is at a few of the ports.

Docked next to a "regular" sized cruise ship

This is St Thomas. We had taken a shuttle to the other side of the island to ride a tram to a place called Paradise Point. This was taken from there. Even at that distance you can see how huge it is!

Here's some random pictures from inside the ship.

This was on the pool deck.

It had rained that's why it was so wet.

These next two were what was called the Boardwalk.

It was open so you can see how tall the ship was.

There was even a carousel.

This is the wake on the back of the ship.

This was the front of the ship.

It's called the Solarium and it was for adults 18+ only. It was a nice place to go for a little quiet time.

This was one of the pools.

It was where we spent the majority of the time while the ship was at sea.

I'm going to stop here because I just today remembered about the February Photo A Day theme that I do every year!

February sure creeped up on me! So, consider this post to be February Photo a Day #1-4 with bonus pictures!

I'll continue my theme/vacation recap tomorrow!

See you then!

  4. Wow, it is enormous! I really enjoyed your photos, as I have never been on a cruise ship. I hear that they are like an entire city themselves! Everything is so gorgeous! I hope you do a post about the food, I hear cruise ship food is the best anywhere. I won't be visiting blogs tomorrow because of my test, but I hope to check here for sure to see the next post on the ship! So I'll be looking, just not commenting till perhaps the next day.
