I went to an estate sale that was on a Wednesday and Thursday, which is unusual because they are normally scheduled Thursday or Friday thru Sunday. I went on Thursday thinking it was the first day but it actually was the 2nd day so everything was 50% off.
This was the house.
There wasn't a For Sale sign in front and I couldn't find anything online so I have no idea what it's worth. Probably too much!!
This entryway is the only picture I took of the house. There were a lot of people there of course and I try not to get too many people in my pictures.
I had to get a picture of the kitchen sink and counter though.
Look at those windows and all that natural light! I would love something like that! I'd probably fill it with plants!
Some of the things I looked at was this small pot.
It looked like a French press and I thought it would work as a cold brew pot. I carried it around with me for a while and then decided it would be too small! It was $6 with the 50% off.
I thought this Armour was really pretty.
I couldn't get the doors opened for the life of me. It was $175.
I liked this painting/tile picture.
Those were really popular at one time. It was $25.
Remember these popcorn poppers?
We had one just like it. You put butter in the top part and it melts all over the popcorn when it's popping! Yum! It was $15.
I really liked this ottoman. It was about the length of a love seat and nice and cushy to sit on. I was tempted to buy it but it doesn't really go with any of my furniture. It was $50.
It was in decent shape for the money and for $250 you could buy the set, but they didn't exactly match and I'm not in the market for furniture anyway!
They are nice and in brand new condition. I paid $2 for them. The back says "1928". I remember that line of jewelry. It was all old antiquey looking jewelry. I think they sold it at Kohl's.
I took these pictures a few weeks ago at a formal dinner they had for the residents. Adrian wanted a picture of herself with her fancy clothes!
She loved it although even at her age she didn't like her picture! I told her I didn't like mine either so we're even!
100 years, what a milestone! I still have all my 1928 jewelry, but it was before Kohl’s. I bought it in the 80’s from where I worked, May Dept. Stores.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your estate sales shopping. I have yet to seek one out. Might be a blessing in disguise!
ReplyDeleteI remember that brand of jewelery too. Cute earrings! I like the pic of you and Adrienne too!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed visiting the beautiful home with you Jeannette! Like you, I love all the beauty in so many things, but to bring them home with me, is hard, because we are trying to keep our new home uncluttered. It wouldn't take me very long to clutter it up if I brought home everything I loved, lol! Happy Easter to you dear friend!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they changed the days of the estate sale to accommodate Easter?
ReplyDeleteNot many people can say they are 100. :)
ReplyDeleteThe silverware is a bit gaudy for my taste.
Love all those windows in the kitchen!!
Adrian sure doesn't look 100! I love the tile picture, and may have bought it if I had been there.
ReplyDeleteI think I have a pair of earrings that are that same brand. I got them at Boscov's.
ReplyDelete100 is quite a milestone. You wouldn't guess from looking at her.
Never heard of the jewelry brand! I like it! And 100...such a blessing to be that old and still get around on your own. Larry's Dad made it to 99 before his troubles began...
ReplyDeletehugs
Donna
What a great day!!! Wishing you a lovely Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great estate sale. I remember the 1928 jewelry too; how sweet are those earrings. Happy birthday Adrian. Will we ever like a photo of ourselves?
