Random This and That

Last week I went to an Estate Sale that would have been a quilters dream. It was advertised as a quilters paradise, and they were not kidding! I didn't take any pictures because there were so many people there I could barely step into a room. Just take my word for it that there was room after room of quilting supplies.  There were fabrics, threads, kits, patterns and books plus about 4 different machines!

There was a small amount of other thigs too and I managed to buy this:

I really only wanted the glasses but the pitcher was included and for $2.50 I couldn't turn it down.

I also got this little pin holder in a tiny terra cotta pot!

It's only about 2 inches high and for 50¢ I could not resist!

I was off over the weekend and saw this organizing idea on Instagram so I ran to the dollar store.

And turned this mess:

Into this using dollar store magazine bins or whatever they are called.

There's supposed to be 3 bins but only two would fit.

It took two months, but we finally finished the puzzle I posted about here in February.

It took us so long because it was a 1000-piece puzzle and we only worked on it for a few minutes a day!

Lastly, I replaced the colorful afghan I've had on our couch forever

With this quilt that was made for me by a coworker when I retired in 2020.

I can't believe this sat in a drawer for all those years, but I was afraid it would get dirty or covered in cat hair.

Now the cat's don't climb up to the back of the couch anymore so I don't have to worry about it!

I think it looks much better!

That's all that's going on in my world right now. It's Estate Sale season again so I'm sure I'll be posting about them soon!

Until then take care and thanks for stopping by!

  2. Congrats on finishing that puzzle too! A 1000-piece one is a serious achievement, especially working on it just a few minutes a day. And that quilt your coworker made for you is beautiful! It’s wonderful that you’re finally putting it to good use—I'm sure it feels so cozy and personal now on your couch.

Looking forward to hearing about your future estate sale finds. Thanks for sharing all these little moments and treasures with us.

  5. The new throw looks a lot more modern. And the puzzle looks impossible to work!! I love the cute pincushion! And the glasses and pitcher are very classy looking!

  6. That is a beautiful quilt. That little pin holder for .50 is cute. Around here people sell junk for way too much money. It just seems there are no good deals anymore. Heck even the thrift and secondhand stores are overpriced. I’ll look forward to your good buys in the near future since it is officially Estate Sale Season!!
