Phone Photo Dump

Once again it's time to purge some of the photos from my phone for your entertainment!

It may be a little hard to see but this is a stage set up in downtown Plymouth. It's there for the live music concerts they have every Friday night from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.

They have some pretty good bands from rock to jazz to country music. We've been to a few of them and it's always fun. The not so fun part is how crowded it is and if you don't get there early enough you don't get a spot to set up your chairs! They don't allow chair set up until 3:00 and by 4:30 the park is at least 1/2 full of chairs already. The concerts start at 7:30!

This sign is posted on land less than a mile from my house. They are putting in a Meijer grocery store and a gas station. It's kind of sad because of the land they are taking up, but on the other hand I am thrilled to have my favorite grocery store so close to my house!

If it's any consolation the land wasn't really wooded and they didn't have to take down very many trees. Years ago it used to be farm prison.

I saw this trellis at a store downtown. I really like it!

The store it's in front of does not sell them. I'm tempted to sneak over there one night and steal it! Just kidding! I would never do something like that!

This is where the CBD store I worked at used to be.

It's Little Black Heart boutique now. I thought the name was kind of strange, but it's grown on me. I've gone in there a few times. They have beautiful clothes and accessories, but they are expensive! I love to support small businesses but please, I can't pay your rent with one purchase!

Lastly, we had the boys overnight last Saturday. I took then on a little shopping spree.

I do that at the end of every school year as a kind of reward for doing good in school. Or maybe just to spoil them occasionally!

Nonnie gets to do that sometimes!

That's about it for now.

Work is good and the residents keep us hopping. We had a resident deliberately flood his apartment by turning on the shower, taking the shower head and putting it on a bench outside the shower so water was just flowing all over the floor, outside into the hallway and running out of the light fixture in the ceiling of the apartment below him!

Always an adventure in senior living!

Until the next time take care and thanks for stopping by!

  1. I can’t believe how many Meijers are being built here. They are taking over!

  2. Nice to have a Meijer close to you. It's my favorite store too and I often take advantage of their program to shop for you. You put in your order and pick it up at a time you choose. They come to the car and load it up - and it's free!
Yes, Senior living is always an adventure!

  3. Why would he flood the place on purpose? If he had a problem with the landlord maybe? There are no Meijers anywhere around here and I have never even seen one. I would love to look around one, though.

  4. We don't have Meijers or a Publix like all of you back there have. Safeway's and local ones.
Oh, I bet it is never a dull moment with the seniors - Do you know why the person did it? That's cute that you take the boys out to spoil them. I used to do that with mine - we'd go out and buy all new summer stuff, like beach towels, water cannons, pool toys, sand toys when they were young, and swimsuits. Little Black Heart sounds goth...I like that trellis, too. It looks like it is sturdy metal. I have a similar one that I bought from Collections ETC, years ago for $9.99. Now they want $20. It's not as sturdy looking but I like it.

  5. I just checked it's on sale for 14.99. Not as nice but the patina has aged well, in my yard over the years.

  6. I've never even heard of Meijer grocery stores. None around here.

  7. We don't have any Meijers around here. They have them in Ohio but it's a bit of a drive.
Oh my word on the resident who flooded his apartment. Sounds like he created quite a mess.

  8. I didn't realize your CBD shop closed, Jeanette. I still pictured you working there. Marijuana isn't legal in Indiana but the shops in Michigan close-by are booming. It seems a new one is opening every year. Naturally there's one right on the border between Indiana & Michigan. Lots of folks from here make the 12 mile jaunt over the border. If the police suspect it's a big haul, for resale back home, they'll stop the folks & then they're in trouble. They don't much bother people who buy for personal use, from what I've heard. Regarding Meijers, they're a good store. I don't go there much but hubby said we got some mail from them on Monday: (4) $10 off coupons to be used on any order $30 or more. They're to be used one every week for a month. Hubby will be heading to Meijers 4x in the next 30 days at least. *ha-ha* ~Andrea xoxo

    1. Andrea, The CBD store closed a year ago last October. While at first I was really bummed the job I have now is soooo much better and rewarding! Who knew I would love working in an assisted living facility? I wish Meijer would send me those $10 coupons!

  9. We have a lot of summer concerts and festivals too but yes, the parking and crowds keep us from going sometimes.
I love that trellis myself. Its unique and the perfect size.
Nonna's are allowed to spoil their grands anytime they want!
I hope you all have a great summer.

  10. I've never heard of Meijers until your post. Also, what is a farm prison? Is that a prison for bad farmers? 🤣
I love shopping at boutiques (mom and pop stores) and yes, they are generally a bit more expensive, but it's usually because not everything comes from China, right?
Yay for spoiling your boys. Why not?
Why would someone want to flood their apartment? Anger? Needs attention? So many questions....
