Christmas was nice but very low key. I worked on Christmas Eve and then went to my brothers for our family party. I made 36 of these little hat ornaments in red and green and passed them out to everyone.
A little Lindorf chocolate fit perfectly inside and they loved them!

Everybody loved them! I got my crafty on this Christmas and it was fun to do something like that for a change!
All the yarn and all the material for the pouches was thrifted so the most expensive thing was the Lindorf candies that went inside.
On the 23rd we went to a service at a new to us church that is literally 1/2 mile from our house! It's one of those mega churches. The music and the production was spectacular and it was uplifting, joyful and very spiritual!
We loved it and will probably keep going there.
We celebrated Christmas with Shauna, Brad and the boys yesterday. We got the boys an air hockey table.
So Christmas was fun but I'm glad it's over. I plan to spend this weekend taking everything down which is early for me. I usually wait until after the first of the year.
We also did a 1000-piece Christmas puzzle and I liked it so much we taped it together.
In other news this is what Max does when I sit on the couch.
One of the residents at work gave me this bag with some goodies.
This particular resident gets tons of packages from Amazon and is always giving little gift bags to different people!
She also has a "garage sale" a couple times a year for all the residents to come and buy anything they want!
And she's 94 years old!
That's it for me for now. I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year and a blessed and prosperous 2026!
Until the next time take care and thanks for stopping by!

Handmade gifts and low key celebrations are my favorite things. What a sweet gift from one of the residents. She sounds like a delightful person. I bet the boys loved the air hockey table.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to see you post. Wishing you a belated Merry Christmas and soon to be Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea!! Love the little hats!
ReplyDeleteAnd what's with people taking down Christmas so soon?? I'm one of them! I always leave our tree up till after NY...I just don't know...
Have a Happy New Years!

I love your little crafty gifts you made - I haven't seen those before. My "crafty" wants to come out to play but I've been distracted. I'm hoping to get back into that this year. We'll see...
ReplyDeleteAww, Max loves you! That's so cute. We plan on taking everything down by new years. Glad you enjoyed your holiday but the new year beckons, doesn't it?
What a productive Christmas. Your little hats and pouches are adorable! And so is Max!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there were jigsaw puzzles with lettered pieces, but sounds like a nice idea.
"Christmas was fun but I'm glad it's over" - that's my feeling too. I like this lull between Christmas and New Years. I took my sparse decorations down yesterday.
I absolutely love your little hats! And the candy inside too! Your Christmas sounds cozy and lovely and festive. Happy New Year, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThe tiny hats are absolutely adorable!! I would be tempted to keep them out all year! And the petal pouches are beautiful! I'm now wishing you had time to do more crafts and show us! Max is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI love your little hand crafted items. They are the best to receive.
ReplyDeleteI take down our tree and decorations on New Year's Day usually. Have been known to put things away before though.
I love your hats and pouches!
ReplyDeleteThose crafts are so cute! I’m glad you liked the church. It can be hard to try somewhere new. Hilarious about the garage sale at someone’s assisted living room!
ReplyDeleteI adore your crafty gifts! You are so clever and kind.
ReplyDeleteThe resident who gifts her friends and has a garage sale sounds like such a cool person to know.
I remember getting an air hockey table for Christmas one year---it was so much fun!
Jeannette, You did, indeed, get the crafty juices flowing for Christmas! The little hat ornaments with the Lindorf chocolates are just as cute as can be and such a sweet ornament addition to the trees of the receivers!
ReplyDeleteAnd the petal pouches — I have made those in the past and they have always been well-received. As a matter of fact, after making some for the females of my family, one of my nieces asked me to make some for her bridesmaids when she got married.
As for the jigsaw puzzle, 500 pieces is my limit. But if I had the help of the lettering, as you did, I might stretch myself to do that.
Thanks for your comments on my blog. Have a Happy New Year!
I love all your crafty creations, Jeanette! It is so fun to make something to giveaway. The hats are adorable! And I just love the little pouches too! How sweet of this resident to be so generous to you and to others - what a blessing she must be to everyone! I'm glad you had a good Christmas! The puzzle is beautiful! I will take down my decor New Year's Day, I think. Happy New Year to you!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your gifts that you made. They are so cute. Low key Christmas's are the BEST. That is how our holiday has been and it was much needed for me. How sweet on the gift bag, she sounds like her love language is gifting. I put all of our decorations away already too which is unusual, but I wanted to get it done early this year. Happy New Year to you and your family!!
