I can still manage to find one estate sale in my target location even though the season is pretty much over. This was a big one with a lot of interesting stuff so I am going to do it in two parts
This was the house.
The flyer doesn't have price on it but according to Zillow they are asking $535,000. It's a beautiful house in a desirable neighborhood! I left the address in case you want to fly here and take a look!
I'm always curious when I go to estate sales about the people that lived in the house. Mostly I just try to guess but in this case the woman's name was all over everything so being the nosey person that I am, I googled her when I got home.
I found out that she passed away at the end of August and she was 84 years old. The obituary mentioned that she loved to craft and was an excellent cook. You will see that in the pictures I'll show you. It looks to me like she lived alone in the house because there were no men's clothes or any sign of anyone else living there but her.
Anyway....
The house was jam packed with people as usual, so I didn't get a lot of pictures of the actual rooms.
This is the kitchen.
I thought these little tea pots and tray were cute.
They were asking $35 for the set.
This set of Wolfgang Puck cooking utensils.
It looked brand new. There was no price on it.
There was shelves and shelves of cookbooks like this all over the house!
Plus the shelves on the top of the closets were also filled with cookbooks!
There were several boxes of beaded napkin rings like this.
I'm pretty sure she made all of them!
The closets were filled with clothes that were too big.
There were storage drawers all over and in the basement.

All that stuff gives me PTSD with what I went through cleaning out my mom’s house! You have to wonder how much of it was never used.
ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone need so many slow cookers and pressure cookers? Glad you enjoyed one last sale.
ReplyDeleteWow - so much crafting and cooking stuff! I have no idea what that one item was. Hope you find out!
ReplyDeleteMy word! Well, the price of the house is very reasonable, it is beautiful. Maybe it is not more expensive because the kitchen looks quite small? And why did she have so many replicas of things? the teapot is beautiful. The little red teapots come from QVC. I wait to see if you bought anything!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of house and stuff for it just being one person living there.
ReplyDeleteThat house looks very nice, and I also love the tea set!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what that item in the photo that you are asking about is. It seems to be some type of serving tray, but I am not totally sure.
That is a lovely teapot priced at $20!
Glad you were able to get in one more sale before Winter hits. I just don't understand having SO much stuff. I guess over a lifetime it accumulates and some just never get rid of anything.
ReplyDeleteOh my so much stuff!! So many crock pots and cook books!!
ReplyDeleteLove the red teapots. I probably would have bought them. :)
Omgoodness!!! Bless her heart... Well, it looks like she enjoyed her years!
ReplyDeletehugs
