February Photo A Day #27

Recently the warming plate on my Keurig coffee pot stopped working. I'd been thinking of replacing it for a while anyway.

I've seen advertisements on social media about using a percolator, so I decided to try one for a change.

It takes up about 1/4 of the space my Keurig did.

It took a couple of tries to get the water to coffee ratio to my liking. It uses a lot less coffee than my drip coffee maker did. So far I like it!

See you tomorrow!

  1. That brings back memories of when I was a kid and my parents would have company. Loved the smell and the sound of the percolator.

  2. I don't drink coffee but Bob loves it. He says our Keurig is giving him trouble lately. I know the percolator makes good coffee, but the Keurig is so quick!

  3. Every now and then we pull out my mom's corning ware percolator that we use on the stove. It makes really good coffee. Now that I mention this, I think we'll pull out the coffee pot for a few mornings.

  4. I remember my grandmother and mom both used a percolator. I would see the coffee perk up in the little glass ball on top. And it always smelled so good. I bet the kitchen smells better than with the Keurig. Did not know Keurigs has warming plates!

    1. My Keurig was a double where I could brew a pot or just a cup.

  7. I haven't seen a percolator in ages. The last one I saw was when my dad had one. I love those mugs.

  8. I'm glad to see they still may percolators. That is what my grandparents used and I loved the sound it made.

  9. We have been using a percolator for years, the same one for like 15 years! We prefer percolated coffee, has much more flavor. And yes, takes much less coffee grounds too!
