And So It Begins!

Yes! Another estate sale season is upon us! I'm so excited and apparently half of Michigan is too because this next estate sale was crowded!!!

This is the house. Notice the line outside the door? There was no line when I arrived or I would not have gone to it.

I don't do lines at estate sales. There is nothing I want or need worth standing in a line for, especially when it's cold outside!

Anyway, the house was not for sale but Zillow estimated it at $780,000. No surprise there!

This estate sale had so many clothes and shoes they were in every room!

See for yourself!

Every closet and several big racks full of clothes! Most of them were high end like Talbots and Christopher Banks. A lot of them still had tags on them! They were so beautiful, but nothing was my size!

Also, boxes and boxes of shoes! There must have been 200 pairs! Very nice shoes but also not my size!

Probably a good thing because I would have spent a lot of money!

Me thinks the lady of the house was a shopaholic!

There was some other nice stuff, too.

These were unusual candle holders.

The box they were in was very pretty!

There were quite a few pretty dishes.

I thought this picture and teapot was pretty.

The stripes reminded me of piano keys!

There was a whole box of unopened cloth napkins.

These are the only pictures I took of the inside of the house.

I walked around for about 45 minutes, picked up then put down a few things then ended up buying this:

Three bath towels, 5 hand towels and a little card holder wallet.

Total spent: $10

I was happy to get the towels because they are really nice and we needed them!

In other news

My Thanksgiving cactus decided to bloom again

It only got three blooms but still glad to see them!

Until the next time take care and thanks for stopping by!

  1. I saw the first estate sale of the year a couple of weeks ago. It was right at opening time and had a long line waiting to get in. I kept driving.

  2. Estate sales are really prominent in my area - too rural. But we do have yard sales and garage sales. I might see maybe 3 estate sales a year. We have some mult8i-million dollar properties here (not in my neighborhood) but I think they probably just call them yard sales. Who knows? I sure don't.
I like those cups that have peaches on them. You're really a pro on not spending a lot of money and still manage to get nice things.

My Grandma had a huge Christmas cactus. I always think of her when I see them.

  6. Love the bloom color! Wow, so many clothes and shoes!!! Yet the house is not for sale. It is a nice house, and the kitchen is nice, but dated.

  7. Looks like what I went through cleaning out my mother's condo! So many clothes, many with tags still on. And the shoes! It was insane to me. My parents hid a lot of what they did from me.

  12. My goodness, that was a LOT of clothes! Shopaholic seems to be an understatement. Sad that they weren't your size! I enjoy seeing your pictures of the estate sales, so fun to "window" shop with you! I liked the pitcher and vase that looked like piano keys too. Dishes were also very pretty. I think your choices were great! March blessings to you!

  14. That looks like a very nice Home and very Organized even tho' she had a lot of possessions. It is a LOT of Clothing tho', where would one wear all of that? I do Purge Closets every so often even tho' I am a Maximalist in Retirement, if I haven't Worn it in a while or it's no longer my Size, I just can't see the point in holding onto it.
