Friday How I Love Thee

Sweet Friday..it's always so nice when you get here!

Every morning this week there has been the most spectacular sunrises behind me as I am driving to work. Every day I have been meaning to bring my camera and try to get a couple of shots and this morning I finally remembered.

So pretty that I almost get in a accident looking at it in my side view mirror (Just kidding, Rich, please don't drive me to work every day!) I pulled into a parking lot to get the above shot.

We have nothing definite planned this weekend. May take a little day trip to Grand Haven or South Haven, on the west side of the state to scan the huge beaches with our metal detector. But then it may rain tomorrow so maybe we won't go cuz it's really hard to sift wet sand! And that's my job; Rich does the detecting and I do the sifting, that way I get first dibs on whatever we find! I'm waiting to find that big diamond ring!!

We had our carpets cleaned yesterday. They look much nicer but they are old and we are seriously considering ripping them all up come spring time. I suspect there may be hardwood floors under the carpeting upstairs. That would be so nice. With all these cats we really don't need carpeting to keep clean.

Monday Monday Da da dadadada

Well it's Monday again. I have a urology appointment this morning at 10:00. God forbid I actually sleep in a little! I will be getting the results of my surgery/biopsy last week so we will see what happens from here.

Had a pretty uneventful weekend. Saturday morning I went walking and to breakfast with Marie and her sister. We saw a cat get hit by a car. We all ran out into the street but there was really no helping the poor thing. I don't think it suffered; it was over in about 30 seconds. Some guy that saw it and was out there with us picked it up and carried it to the grass on the side of the road. That pretty much ruined Saturday for me. People please, if you have cats keep them inside or at least contained in a yard. No good can come of them wandering outside.

In the afternoon we went to see my brothers step-daughter be on the homecoming court. Such a pretty girl and very sweet (except to her mother..she's 15!).



We got there just in time for half time and left afterwards! Not the best football fans!

That's all the exciting news for now. Got to shower and get ready for my appointment and then off to work for another week. Oh yeah, my coworker is scheduled to come back on October 7th. Then I may be taking some serious time off!

Edited to add: Got the results. No cancer! Woo hoo!! Don't have to go back until January!!

Farmville, New Truck and a Football Game!

I have been neglecting my blog because I am hooked on Farmville in Facebook! I go on there even when I am supposed to be working!

Things are pretty quiet around here lately. Feeling fine after my surgery. I have a follow-up with the doctor on Monday for the results. Or I could call them today but I think I will wait. I am in no rush to know..it is what it is, you know?

Chris and Marissa are supposed to come over tonight to show us their new truck and go to dinner with us. I hope they do because it's been a few weeks since we've seen them. They are considering buying a house in Houghton Lake, which is about 2-1/2 hours north of us. It's a good deal, they will get alot of house and land for their money. They both work down here though, so they may be spending the weekdays down here and going up there for the weekend!

Saturday my brothers step-daughter is going to be on the homecoming queens' court. They are excited. My brother has to wear a suit and walk her out onto the field. They invited us to go see her so we will be doing that on Saturday. Even if it means sitting through a (boring!!) football game!

That's all that's exciting around here. Excuse me while I go to my farm!

Labor Day Weekend

These three day weekends sure do fly by!

Saturday we went to the Pinnacle Race Track with my brother and sis-in-law. The race track is very close to Metro airport so the planes fly over pretty low.



Here is one of the horses I bet on, #5 and her jockey.



Her name is TakesTwoToTango. I bet $2 for her to place (second or third) and she came in fourth. Bummer. I ended the day down $4.20. Yep, last of the big betters! It was fun just to sit there and have dinner and watch the races.

Sunday Rich and I went to Lakeport State Park.

It was beautiful out and pretty crowded. We brought a picnic lunch and went up and down the beach with our metal detector. Did not find a thing. Then we started scanning the volley ball court, which was away from the beach and empty, and we found 14 pennies! Woo hoo!

Monday was a completely lazy day.

Now it's back to work. At least it's a short week.

Hump Day (This is probably 5th time I've used this title!)

Today I drove my car to work, got to leave early, and was home by 5:30. Riding the bus was nice and comfortable but having my car there is so much more comfortable!

We took a nice walk by a local lake on Sunday. The sky was awesome and the little lake looked so nice.



We have nothing planned for this 3-day weekend so far. We may go to Lakeport State Park on Lake Huron with the metal detector to see if we can beat our last weeks take of 2 cents!
