Labor Day Weekend

These three day weekends sure do fly by!

Saturday we went to the Pinnacle Race Track with my brother and sis-in-law. The race track is very close to Metro airport so the planes fly over pretty low.

Here is one of the horses I bet on, #5 and her jockey.

Her name is TakesTwoToTango. I bet $2 for her to place (second or third) and she came in fourth. Bummer. I ended the day down $4.20. Yep, last of the big betters! It was fun just to sit there and have dinner and watch the races.

Sunday Rich and I went to Lakeport State Park.

It was beautiful out and pretty crowded. We brought a picnic lunch and went up and down the beach with our metal detector. Did not find a thing. Then we started scanning the volley ball court, which was away from the beach and empty, and we found 14 pennies! Woo hoo!

Monday was a completely lazy day.

Now it's back to work. At least it's a short week.

Happy 09/09/09 to everyone!!

  2. Down 4.20 doesn't sound bad, but then add back in the 14 cents.

I used to love going to the dog track and betting 2 bucks. But, then my friend got religion and made me ashamed to go. When we were kids we lived real near the track, and I love hearing the excitement.

Don't know how I missed this post!!

Thinking of you and sending big ol hugs. :)

  3. 2 bucks is about all that I spend across the river at the casinos here. I hate losing my money! Glad you had a good holiday weekend!

  6. OK, I vote we switch lives for a week! Hey that's a TV show isn't it? Only we wouldn't be criticizin each other's life style at the end. We would be giddy, and saying, "Oh,I just love it how you do this....and I just love it how you do that!" You just listed two things on this post, I have always wanted to do, but never haver!
