The Tale of The Candy Bar

I decided to take the day off Wednesday just to give myself a little break and get a little me time. I had brunch with my friend Karen and then went to my cousin Carole's house to visit with her and return some stuff that I borrowed over the summer.

She lost her job about two years ago and she was telling me about the hoops prospective employers put people through when you apply for a job eg. lengthy tests and ridiculous interview questions...only to never hear from them again! So ridiculous!

Anyway, when I got home, I found this in the mailbox along with our mail...

I had no clue what this was until I peeled off the sticky note and saw this..

Apparently Shauna put this in our mailbox on Tuesday morning and our delivery lady took it thinking it was for her!

I felt really bad...she must have been embarrassed... so I put this is our mail box the next day...

I hope it made her feel better!

Well it's Saturday and I am off to IKEA to see if I can find a small table for our hallway entrance. Hope I can make it back out of that crazy place!!

  1. Awww, that was sweet of Shauna, and then you. You have a much nicer mail lady than I do. She broke off the red flag on my mail box, left it lying in the dirt, and now won't pick up mail that I leave in the box
'cause she doesn't check just throws what I'm gettin' on top of what I'm sending. I have to take it to the post office. Okay, I've been wanting to b*tch about that for a while. So thank you! LOL

We don't have an Ikea, but when my nephew lived in Atlanta he loved it.

    Have a great weekend!!

  3. I love the Tale of the Candy Bar. It reminded me that, for the first time, I failed to put a little gift in our rural box at Christmas for our carrier. My mind has been crazy, I hope he forgives me.

  4. That was sweet of Shauna and it was sweet of you too!
We have a nice mail lady. It seems lately that we've had someone else with a real mail truck (we're rural delivery). I hope our mail lady is okay...maybe I should order something big (but not too heavy) that will come through the mail. She always comes in the driveway and honks the horn to give it to me. Then we get to visit for a quick minute. :-)
