Last week one of the first residents at StoryPoint passed away. She was 91 years old. Her apartment was the first one behind the front desk.
One time I was delivering a package to her, and she had a bowl of little candy bars. She told me to take one and I took an Almond Joy and told her that was my favorite. Then every time she walked past the desk when I was there she gave me an Almond Joy. She was known for giving treats to everyone she came across!
After her family cleaned out her apartment they left this basket of candy for everyone to enjoy!
I'm going to miss her!
See you tomorrow!
Aww...so sorry...
ReplyDeleteMy sister in law used to work at a nursing home and she said the hardest part of the job was when one of the residents she had gotten to know well had passed away. This woman sounds like a sweet lady.
ReplyDeleteHugs! I know how close I got to some of my residents too.
ReplyDeleteThat is very sweet.
ReplyDeleteYep when volunteering at the Veterans home you grow close to the residents. Then they pass. Still, it’s all worth it.
ReplyDeleteOh this is so sad. What a lovely lady.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very sweet woman. I'm sure she will be missed.
