February Photo A Day #17

This is my other grandparents house in Detroit,  my mom's parents. Obviously it looks a lot better than my dad's parents house! I have a lot of memories in this house too! Playing in the alley next to the house and the huge rose garden my grandmother kept in the backyard! I'm glad it's been taken care of all these years.

Until tomorrow stay safe and well my friends!

  1. That’s good news that it’s still being maintained.

  2. When the houses of our memories are well cared for, it does something for our soul & spirit, doesn't it? When they're allowed to run down, it brings a sadness we can't quite describe. ~Andrea xoxo

  4. Looks like a classic post-war bungalow. Reminds me of the endless streets in Chicago that are lined with houses just like that, their yards neat as pins. xoxo

  6. Precious looking house.

Can see how you would have nice memories, of being there.

An alley!!! My growing up home had an alley behind it. I love alleys, as they are becoming less and less found. There is something so old fashioned and cozy about them. -smile-

Happily, my growing up home is still lovingly maintained. It looks great. And that makes me very happy. It is only a few miles east, in a small village. In summer, we can take drives over that way, and have seen it.

But! I would love, love, love to get inside!!!!!! And see the changes they probably have made, and how it looks now, and etc.!!! Would love! Won't get! -grin-

  7. What a cute little house. It reminds me of houses in a neighborhood I lived in a long long time ago.

  9. Good that it hasn't been knocked down and replaced with a block of apartments!

  10. Hi, I found your blog via Mari at My Little Corner blog. My husband grew up in Detroit. He has many memories of playing at his grandparents house and the alley behind. This little home is precious and how nice that it has been cared for. I grew up in Georgia and remember fondly my grandmas roses. Have a good day.
