The One Where I Decide Not To Name My Posts Like Friends Episodes

We have finally cooled off here a little. The past two nights have been in the 50's which makes for some really good sleeping!

Last week I hit another Estate Sale. When I go I usually look for jewelry and toys for the kids. This one didn't have any jewelry but the basement was full of toys!

I found two huge bags of building block tiles and wooden building blocks for the boys. Max the cat approves!

Plus I found these hourglasses for them, too. There are 1, 3, 5 and 10 minute timers. $20 for everything!

I washed everything in a little bleach and water. The boys loved them!

Work is going pretty good. I worked an extra day this week but I didn't mind because I had nothing else to do. I'm only scheduled for 13 hours a week so 4 more hours is no big deal.

Here's a view of the store from the counter where the cash register is. It really is a nice place to work.

I think I mentioned that I bought a set of knitting needles and yarn at the thrift store.

I started to teach myself to knit. I'll need lots of practice to get over my fat fingers!

Lastly since I'm employed again I decided to treat myself today.

I got a manicure. The last time I had a manicure was before Shauna and Brad's wedding in 2015! It's just not something I'm in the habit of doing. But I like the way it looks so maybe I'll continue.

Saturday the 11th we are keeping the boys overnight so Shauna and Brad can go to a wedding. We promised them we would go to the park and dinner so hopefully the weather cooperates!

Chris is coming into town on the 14 for a week. We are all going to the Michigan Renaissance Festival while he is here. It's been going on since 1979 and I have never been so I'm excited!

That's all for me for now.

Until the next time stay safe and well my friends!

  1. Would you believe I’ve never had a manicure or pedicure? Those toys were a good find. Do you keep toys at your house for the grands?

  2. My oldest daughter went to the Renaissance Fair years & years ago, with some college friends. They dressed up in period costumes & had the best time! Enjoy all the things you have planned in September. It's always nice to have fun things to do in autumn. ~Andrea xoxoxo

  3. It's been so nice lately, hasn't it?
You did good with those toys!
I do manicures regularly. I like them too - but when the time comes that I'm not working, I'll have to rethink that...

  4. I'm with Bijoux; I've never had a manicure or pedicure either :)

Wow with the toys! You did great! I bet they will enjoy many an hour playing with them. I personally like the hour glasses lol :) So much fun to watch the sand go from top to bottom then flip it over and start again :)

Looks like a nice shop you work in. Cozy looking!

How fun to have your son come to town! I know you'll enjoy spending time with him and that festival sounds really cool to go to!

  7. I bet the boys will have fun with those.
The place where you work looks really nice.
I've never had a manicure but I can't have nailpolish where I work so it would be a waste of time to get the nails painted.

  9. Years ago, when I had my daycare, I would shop garage sales and thrift stores for toys and books.

Manicures and pedicures are heaven EXCEPT when you get a pesty nail fungus. You have to watch out there you go. Last year I went to 2 places that I normally don't go to and picked up a nasty toe nail fungus. My podiatrist told me that since Covid, the public health has not been monitoring these places and they are having a bit of an issue with nail funguses.

I never had one in my life but it just won't go away - and my toe nail fell off. Since I don't know which one gave it t me, I can't report it. They need a name but even that, no one answers that extension. It's like no one is there - they're all over on the covid side. lol.

But they are nice. Don't scrimp on price but then again, one of the places was reccomned by a friend, and it was beautiful and expensive. You just never know.

I'm sure you will master knitting. I've learned quite a few different stitches watching YouTube.

  11. THe store looks like a nice place to work. What type of store is it and what do they sale? I have not have a mani in so long. I actually love a pedi more. I used to knit a lot but finally gave all that up. I gave all my yarn away. I had several large black contractors bags full. Have a great day.

  13. You got some great toys for the boys; I'd like the hourglass timers myself. :)
The store looks so cute, neat and clean. I'm glad that you are enjoying it.
I spoil myself with a manicure and pedicure every 3-4 weeks. I tell everyone "I'm worth it!"

  15. 9/11... 20 years ago... Afghanistan was a safe haven, for Radical Islamists, to prepare for Terrorist Attacks, on the Free World.

Today... 20 years later... Afghanistan is again a safe haven, for Radical Islamists, to prepare for Terrorist Attacks, on the Free World.

Thanks to the ridiculous complete military withdrawl, from Afghanistan, done by this Administration, a week and a half ago.

    Way-to-go, *Uncle Joe*!!!

  16. Thank you for stopping by and wishing me a happy birthday. I really really want a manicure and a pedicure but can't get up the nerve to go. Do they work on ugly fingers and toes! :) Your nails look so pretty. I also want to learn to knit...with my fat crooked fingers. Hope you will let us know how it goes.
