Friday, How I Love Thee!

It's Friday and that's a good thing!

So last week we took Chris and Marissa to dinner to at P.F. Chang's to celebrate their 4th wedding anniversary. We had a good time, service and food was very good. Anyway, a few days ago I was looking at my bank account online and I noticed that the charge for that night was minus the tip that we had added onto the bill. I just happened to still have the receipt in my purse so when I looked at it, I realized that I had added the tip, signed the bill and then proceeded to take both copies with me when I left! So no tip for the server! I believe I had ringing ears all night from being cussed out by the server for stiffing her! I have never been a waitress but I know that they depend on their tips and the service was certainly good enough! I felt really bad so I put $10 in a envelope with her name on it and Rich dropped it off at the restaurant next time he was driving that way.

This weekend Rich's sisters and their spouses are coming over and we are all going to dinner.

We eat out a lot apparently!!

Work is slowing down for the holidays now. My favorite time to work here is between Christmas and New Years. There's nobody around, no lines in the cafeteria, easy parking and empty hallways. When you work in a huge hospital like I do it's always crowded so it's a nice change!!

I took next Friday off to make cookies and go shopping with Shauna. Woo hoo!

Can't wait! Anyway, time to go cruise Amazon.com and see if there is anything I need!

Have a great weekend, all!

  2. Good deal sending that tip money to the restaurant. They pay servers so badly, they need every cent they can get.

  3. That was so nice of you to send the money with Rich, but I'm not surprised as I know you are a VERY nice lady!!

    Have a great weekend. :)

  4. That sure was sweet of you to make an extra effort to get a generous tip to your server! Those workers get next to nothing for wages and really depend on those tips!

Hope you have a fun weekend. Cookies - YUM!

  5. It sounds as if you're getting geared up for Christmas. I'm on my travels, so will be spending Christmas in Australia. I'm keeping a separate blog while I'm travelling at www.itchyfeet23@blogspot.com

I can imagine how you felt about the tip, and it was really good of you to follow up and make sure it got to the server. But I never add it to the bill, I always give it separately to the server as cash, because in some places the servers never actually see the tip if you add it to the bill.

  7. My daughter worked as a waitress during college and I started tipping extra good since then after realizing the little bit they get paid. So I always multiply the total times two and give that to the waiter. Sometimes they deserve it and sometimes they are just blessed by me. :D
