We had another baby added to the family last week. This one was born to Rich's niece Kristy and her husband Greg who live in South Carolina. Alexander Thomas weighing in at 10 pounds, 3 ounces! He's a little cute little guy!
Last night it was so beautiful out we sat outside for a hour or so just to be able to breath the fresh air! We got to turn the air conditioning off and open the windows, too!
This is what you do when you don't have a decent front porch to sit on. Oh, our porch is big enough for the chairs to fit but a) they would be blocking the front door and b) the garage sticks out so we would only see one side of the neighborhood! It was nice sitting there last night!
Shauna started her job here at U of M yesterday. I think the biggest issue she will have is the parking. I know I've bitched about it here before because it's such a hassle. She has a little later starting time too, so it may be necessary for her to get there much earlier in order to get a spot! I'm worried that she will have a really hard time, but I'm sure she will adjust and make her way just fine. Just the mother hen in me coming out! That said, I am so thrilled to have her working so close to me. I definitely will see her more often and that's a bonus! I even had lunch with her today!
Tomorrow is my last day of work for 5 whole days. I only took Thursday off. Friday is my regular scheduled day off and Monday is a holiday. I don't think we are doing anything special. I would love to go up north, but traveling on a holiday weekend is such a pain, plus it's crowded and we don't have reservations anywhere. We may take a couple day trips to different state parks.
Last Saturday we went to the Pinckney State Recreation area. Not really impressed with the lakes but the drive to one of them was a long, sun dappled dirt road.
Really pretty!
