What's In Your Bag?

I saw this on another blog and thought I would do a similar post. This is about all of the things that I must have with me during the day. In other words, what I carry in my purse!


I go back and forth between carrying a big purse with me to not carrying a purse at all, just a small wristlet in my work bag with the essential stuff. Right now I am carrying my large purse with everything I can think of in it!

This is my current purse.



And here's what's inside: 
My glasses and prescription sun glasses

My wallet and keys

My calendar, a small notebook, nail file, coupons and misc papers

My daily medications, my iPod Touch and my BlackBerry

Kleenex, a brush and gum.

And a small make up bag that contains a mirror, lipstick, lip gloss, lip balm, perfume, cough drops and and more medications!

And anything else I can cram in there during the day!

Put that all together in one purse and that thing weighs a ton! But I haul it with me everywhere I go!

Where Did You Go, Spring?

Thank you all so much for your anniversary wishes! In continuing with the "Rich and Jeanette" theme..this is where we met:

The Redford Theatre in Detroit. We both worked there when we were teenagers. There was a article in the paper a few days ago about how the one block area that the theatre was located on is having a small comeback..with new coffee shops and cafes moving in. The theatre has been owned by a organ society for years and they play classic movies. It was a pretty high crime area, so I'm curious to see if it's changed at all. We'll just have to strap on our guns and go take a look!! And for the record, we had our first kiss under those marque lights! Awwww...I know!!

Well, we had Spring for a few days and now it's cold again..in the 30's every day! Some places just north of us got about 6 inches of snow last night. It missed us thank goodness! We just got rain. But still, blah!!

Been crazy busy at work this week. Even so, I think I'm going to take Friday off and enjoy a long weekend!

"I better just hold these papers down for you in case a big wind comes along, OK?"

The Brenda Photo Challenge-Before & After

Time for another Brenda Photo Challenge! This one kind of snuck up on me! The theme for this challenge is "Before & After" I'm not really good at editing my photos so I just took this picture we took at Island Lake over the winter:

And played around with the colors and saturation in my photo editor. I have no clue what I did but I do like the effect! Gives it a kind of cold, wintery look!

34 Years Ago Today..

Happy 34th anniversary to my sweet hubby!

God, we were babies!! Literally, I was 20 and he was 21. But we must have done something right cuz here we are 34 years later!

We are not doing anything special..just dinner out with the usual gang! Next year I'll make him buy me diamonds and take me on a cruise or something!

And also a very special Happy Birthday to some one special to me (you know who you are)!

Today was absolutely gorgeous out! It's so nice to see the sun shine and feel the warmth! Spring is in just a few days and none too soon!!

Today at work I actually sold a couple of my jewelry pieces that I made! This may be the start of a new career!

Well, probably not.

All In The Family

Well, now that I have introduced you to my sister-in-law Debbie it's time for you to meet my brother Tom! He started a blog, too and it's called
Oochkos Observations  the name being taken from his childhood nick name of Tomoochko!

It's been a looog busy week and I am sure glad it's Saturday. Last night we had a birthday dinner for my dad who turned 79. We had a good time but I sure do miss my mom whenever we have family stuff. I always wear her ring to any occasion that I think she would want to be at because it makes me feel like I have her there with me.

And she sure would love her little great-grandson, Dominic who is the cutest little guy! Could you not just eat him up??

As soon as he saw me point my phone at him he smiled...his mom say's he loves having his picture taken! He's a little ham!!

Not much on the agenda this weekend. The sun was shining so nice this morning we were planning on taking a nice walk but then it got cloudy, cold and windy!

Well, off to the thrift stores I go!

I Hate That!

Don't you hate when you're in the grocery store trying to open those little plastic produce bags and you can't get it open and you don't want to lick your fingers because you were just walking all over the grocery store touching everything?

Don't you hate when you open a container of yogurt and it squirts yogurt all over the front of you?

Don't you hate when you finally throw something away only to have had a use for it a week later?

And don't you hate when you see something all over the place until you need it..and then you can't find it anywhere??

Yeah, me too.

Anyway, Happy Hump day! I am leaving work early today to try to catch the UPS guy. He's trying to deliver our new phones and they need to be signed for. I left a note on the door that I will be home at 4:00 so hopefully the delivery person will see it and come back then! I would have them deliver it to my neighbors next door who are retired, but after living next to them for 11 years, I think I've only talked to them two or three times and don't even know their names!! Sad, huh?

I grew up in the best neighborhood in the world. It was Detroit but it may as well have been a small town because it seemed like everyone knew everyone!

Why do cats love the empty laundry basket so much!
