As The Days Drone On.

Boy, this year sure seem to be flying by! It's almost November already and next week Daylight Savings Time ends. Bummer. I hate getting off of work and driving home in the dark!

Anyway, speaking of work...this guy was sitting in front of me on the bus a few days ago. I had to take a secret picture because he had an impressive set of dreadlocks!

Lately the price of groceries has been driving me crazy...like I'm sure most of you go crazy too every time you have to grocery shop. In order to try to cut down on what I spend I thought I would try a discount grocery store by us called Aldi's.

It's a no frills, generic brand store. At check out the cashier rings up your stuff and puts it back in the basket. Then you pull over to a counter and pack your own groceries. You usually bring your own bags but if you don't, they sell plastic bags for 10 cents and paper bags for 6 cents each.

To cut costs they use minimum employees. So in order to not have to pay a stock person to go fetch carts from the parking lot, they make you pay a quarter to use a basket. I think it's pretty ingenious how they do it.

The baskets are all chained together with little boxes on each handle.

You put a quarter in the box and a little spring unlatches the basket. The quarter sits there while you push the cart all over the store. See my quarter poking out?

Then when you are finished you simply push your cart back in place, plug in the chain and out pops your quarter! Ah the joy of the simple things in life!

Shauna would like to have a broach bouquet for her wedding. I've picked up a couple of broaches here and there and yesterday I went to Michael's and picked up a couple of silk flowers to see how  they looked. Here's the result.

This flower is actually mint..the picture makes it look yellow. I put a sliver, pearl and amethyst broach in the middle.

This is a white rose that I paired with a ruby broach.  I really like this one.

It's going to be a blast making Shauna's bouquet and she will be able to keep it forever!

Until the next time.....

Whats Going On Lately

We are just finishing up a GORGEOUS fall weekend. Sunny and in the mid to upper 70's
both days.Wish we could have weekends like this all the time.

This picture was taken one morning early this week when it was pretty foggy. I love fog. Wish I could have been walking around in it instead of  waiting for the bus to go to work.

Today we went to little Anthony's 1st birthday party.  He's doing really well since his surgery. And he's growing by leaps and bounds!

And he was loving is birthday cake!

I finally decided to order the pink ring from work as my gift for my 10 year anniversary. I was going to order the picture but I decided that the actual picture was too small for the size of the frame. Anyway, I'll post pics when I get it.

Smudge likes to keep me company while I'm typing....even though he was about to turn away because he hates having his picture taken!

And last but not least I have some wedding news....

Shauna and Brad set their wedding date for May 30th, 2015. This is the countdown I have on my phone. One year and 229 days from today! Gives us lots of time to save money and plan a very nice wedding!

Seems like a long time but I know the time will fly by!.

Until the next time..

Stuff We Saw

Due to the lack of any interesting goings on lately I thought I would show you some stuff  I saw while walking around this summer.

These strange marking on someones driveway. That't not chalk either. It looks like some kind of bleaching stuff. Probably some  weird cult thing!!!

This house has rose bushes all along the front and all down the driveway! They are so pretty! I always enjoy walking past this house every summer.

A while back I showed you this little doggie window. I finally got to see the little doggie in the window! There's a reflection but you can see his little eyes right above it. He was barking at me like crazy!

Finally Rich took this one of some creepy early Halloween decoration on a car.

There's not a lot going on right now. No new wedding plans to share. Brad has to spend the next 6 months in Chicago for his job. He'll be home on weekends, though and Shauna went there this weekend.

Next week we have little Anthony's first birthday party!

Am enjoying the cooler weather, although it's been really humid the last few days. Humidity I will not miss for the next few months!

Until the next time....

Phone Photo Dump

Time for another purge of the photos I collect on my phone!  The boys were playing with kinetic sand and it is a little oily.  Levi left hi...
