At work, one day each month we celebrate that month's birthdays. They have entertainment, cupcakes and ice cream and this year there was a guy making balloon figures. This one was my favorite.

Most of them were from when we took a few cruises. I also have magnets from England, Vietnam, and Germany. Those are from Brad's travels for work. I've never been to Italy but I just felt the need to represent my ancestors!

This is our refrigerator currently. I collect magnets from everywhere we take a trip to and have been collecting them for a lot of years. I always write the month and year on the back of each one. Besides these I also have a shoe box full of ones that I "retired" about 10 years ago.
Most of the ones on the left side are from places we visited out of state and the ones on the right are mostly from Michigan with a couple out of state ones.
I am feeling the need to clear clutter from my life and this refrigerator looks pretty cluttered to me so I'm thinking of taking them all down. We'll see....
Next post I'll show you what's on the side.

This is the charm bracelet my cousin gave me when I made my confirmation in the Catholic Church. I think I was about 12 and she was my sponsor.
The first charm on the left was the one she gave me with the bracelet. Then she gave me a charm on my birthday for several years. The second from the right was for my 16th birthday. The second from the left was for being a bridesmaid in her wedding that same year. The fourth from the left was when I graduated from high school. That was the last one when I turned 18.

Last week when Rich and I both had the day off we decided to go to the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History. All the years I worked in Ann Arbor I have never been.
We spent a few hours walking around. It was pretty interesting. Here is the display of the male and female Mastodons they had from up above.

The pin on the left I distinctly remember her wearing it on her coat one time when my parents were going out somewhere. I think it looks like the earth!
The lovely pearl ring on the right I made for her in art class in school I believe.
We had a nice thing happen at work on Valentines Day. A guy proposed to his girlfriend while they were visiting her mother! He had his friend come to play the guitar for the residents as a way to get the mom down to the dining room.
We all knew it was coming and everyone was in the dining room, pretending they were there to listen to the guitar player!
Here's something interesting. See how bright the ring box looks? It had a little light in it that turned on and shined down on the diamond ring when he opened it! Very cool!

We are getting ready to paint our family room, kitchen and living room. Since it's all one big room I want to be sure we get the right color of paint.
The lighting in this picture is terrible and even though the wall looks grey, its actually a beige. These are the colors we most liked. We haven't decided for sure yet, but I think the third from the right is the one we are going with. It's called Confident White. Not too bright, not too creamy but lighter than the wall is now.

Here are a few pieces of jewelry I had as a child.
The stretchy one on the top was a favorite and I remember wearing it all the time! I don't remember how it got broken.
The bottom bracelet I got for I think my 8th birthday. It has the letters and little garnets in between. I wore that one quite often, too!
Going to a Super Bowl party today at my brothers. I'm not really a football fan I only go for the food and to watch the commercials!

Here's another throwback photo for you. This was taken in 1997 when my dad took the whole family to Las Vegas to celebrate his 65th birthday! This was at the top of the Stratosphere.
Two things to note in this photo: First Rich weighs about 50lb less now than he did then and although you can't tell my knees were shaking being up so high!

There is a house in downtown Plymouth that decorates their porch for every holiday. For Christmas they always have a life size deer pulling a sleigh. See it on the right?
I would love to see what it looks like from the inside! At the time I took this picture, they were in the process of decorating for Valentine's Day.
