Other things have been going on too, not wedding related.
My friend Marie found out she is going to be a grandmother for the first time! Her daughter is due in November. We talk about becoming grandmas all the time and I am so excited for her! Hopefully I'm pretty close behind her!
Rich and I took a little two-night getaway a few weeks ago. We went to Pentwater, which is on the western side of the state, right on Lake Michigan. We stayed there for one night and then traveled to Traverse City Turtle Creek Casino for another night. We manged to see a sunset on Lake Michigan. It was OK.
My lilacs are in full bloom right now! They smell heavenly! I wish I could cut some and bring them in the house, but they last a whole 10 minutes! Plus my cats would probably eat them!
"Only if they taste like catnip!"
My brother Don's oldest son Joey got engaged and will be getting married probably this time next year. His fiance Michelle is a sweetheart!
We are currently trying to decide if we want to sell our house and buy a smaller one now while the market is good or stay put for a while. Its a sellers market right now which is a good for selling but not necessarily for buying! Plus all the logistics of going through all that gives me a headache thinking about it! Who knows? When in doubt do nothing so that's what we are doing!

Work continues to be a necessary pain! We got approval from the Regents to relocate the whole pathology lab to an outside facility that is approximately 3 miles closer to my house! The best part is there is parking right at the facility, so no more buses! The bad thing is we won't be moving until sometime in 2017!
Maybe I'll strike it rich and retired before then!
One can dream, right??
Until the next time.......
Two weeks? Oh my, I can hardly believe it. I know it's going to be such a beautiful and wonderful wedding!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for your friend, Marie. There's just so many blessings in having grandchildren. You'll be next, wait and see!
Glad you and Rich were able to get away for a couple days. I like how you guys occasionally take these trips just the two of you. Hey, I think that's a song.
Have a great weekend, buddy and thank you for always being so supportive. :)
xoxo
The lilacs are so lovely!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really exciting time too! Weddings are so much fun.
Wait until closer to retirement before you decide to move, Eh? If you pound the bottom of the woody stem of the Lilacs, they will take up water better and last longer. I love weddings!!
ReplyDeleteTwo weeks left? I can't wait to see pictures. You know, I'm looking forward to having grandchildren, too. I always smile when I'm walking by the little clothes and tiny booties and socks at Target. My daughters both shake their heads at me every time.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, those lilacs are beautiful... :)
Lordy, I would SO love to retire...sigh...
ReplyDeleteThat wedding will come so fast and you'll look up and it'll be July!
I know you're excited!!
Yep...think I'd stay put...
