Let's take a break from metal detecting to go to a..you guessed it..an Estate Sale!
This was the house, and it was gorgeous inside! It's another Aaron's Estate sale. Probably every other one I go to is run by Aaron's.
This is the butler's pantry.
And a built-in desk on one side of the kitchen.
The kitchen cabinets were really nice!
This mural was painted on the dining room wall.
Aaron's always displays the cups in a circle on a serving platter!
One side of the master bedroom.
I love the ceiling in the master bedroom.
Hello! This was outside the master bedroom. I love the frame on the mirror.
A sitting room on the first floor. Huge windows looked out to a huge deck on the back which I was unable to get a picture of.
The front entrance. There were beautiful hardwood floors throughout.
One of the two bedrooms in the basement or lower level.
I loved this picture. The flowers were raised, and it was framed beautifully. But you know, $150 is way over my budget!
I didn't buy anything but my friend Marie bought a coffee table book of pictures of Italy for $5. She is an Italian immigrant, so the pictures brought back a lot of good memories for her!
Of course, we looked the house up and it sold for $499,000. No surprise there!
Until the next time stay safe and well my friends!
That is a lovely brick home. I also thought the cabinets were nice...cause you know I know cabinets! :) I really loved the dinnerware pattern. I know I've seen it before, but don't remember the name. That house, if it were in my 'hood would easily fetch over two million.
ReplyDeleteThat house looks way nicer than $499K. It sort of makes me sad to think about why they are selling all their nice belongings.
ReplyDeleteYou showed good restraint - I'm at a point in my life, where I don't have enough wall space for another piece of wall art.
ReplyDeleteI do have a weakness for old vintage books, and knick knacks, plates, lamps, small tables, etc.
Wow that sure is a big house!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a house! That mural looks very real.
ReplyDeleteThere always seems to be china at these estate sales. Makes you wonder if anyone ever buys it? Looks like a lovely house. Could you go upstairs as part of the sale? Those stairs might have done me in, lol :) Do estate sales taper down with the colder weather?

Gorgeous house. I can't imagine living in anything like that. My house is a fraction of that size.
ReplyDeleteExceptional beauty with lots of charm!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous house! But half a mil is a bit much...The housing market will be tanking soon...think I'll hold off...!

I used to love garage sales! Beautiful home, and yes when you see all the dishes, etc. makes you wonder if someone passed away. And, perhaps that's why the home sold for less than others thought it should. I don't need anymore 'stuff' but I do love looking. Is that you I see in the mirror? xoxo
ReplyDeleteHo-lee-tu-lee-doe!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an estate that is. Sheesh! I would love to know the story behind the folks who lived there: what they did for a living, how many children they had if any, and all that jazz. Thank you for sharing it with us, my friend. ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh, that must have been so much fun. I doubt there was anything there I could have afforded to buy. Maybe the five dollar book. :) The house is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful home and property. I really like the cabinets in the kitchen and I usually go more for white. I'm sure you and your friend had a good time looking around.
ReplyDeleteSuch classic house with exquisite design
ReplyDeleteStill like to know thd *why* of these estate sales....
ReplyDeleteπππ HAPPY SEPTEMBER πππ
Thanks for the tour, Jeanette. Looks like most of the stuff would be out of my price range as well.
ReplyDeleteVery posh! Beautiful throughout. I'm shocked at the $499k. That would sell for $5M around here!
ReplyDeleteWow, with some updating that house could really be a showplace! So many beautiful details! I love that it had big outdoor spaces. xoxo
