My phone is getting too full of pictures so here's a photo dump for your viewing pleasure!
We've been working on this difficult puzzle for a few weeks and decided one day to give up on it for a while. We didn't want to undo what we had done so we preserved it the best way we could without a puzzle table.
We carefully slid it on to a cardboard, wrap it in saran wrap and stored it under the dresser until we feel like working on it again!
This is the first time I've seen a cross at our church. This was on Palm Sunday.
It came down from the ceiling. Against the background screen of stained-glass windows, it was beautiful!
While in Meijer last Saturday my phone made the Amber alert sound while I was standing at a sample table drinking a sample of iced coffee. This is what popped up! It was surprising because it wasn't particularly stormy outside, just lightly raining.
When I read it out loud the young girl doing the samples said, "Oh no I have to leave now!" She started packing up and I moved to the front of the store to find Rich (because what do you do during a tornado warning but move toward the windows!) Then an announcement came over the loudspeakers that all employees were to go to the storm shelters, customers are welcome to join them or free to leave but the store is closed for business!
A lot of people just abandoned their carts and left or went to the storm shelters. I finished my shopping and met up with Rich and left my cart at the checkout. Then we went outside to look at the sky! The tornado sirens were going! I know!! It didn't look any different than before so we went back into the store and hung out at the registers for about 1/2 hour or so. Then the tornado warning was over and the store opened again so we checked out and left!
Turns out there was a tornado sighted but it was pretty far away and moving away from us. Because we were in one of the surrounding counties we got the alert too!
Rich and I decided to tour the Capital building in Lansing a few weekends ago.
Lastly Chris sent this picture to us the other day.
There was a bobcat in his back yard! Here he's looking at his reflection in the basement window! I wonder if he smelled that there was a cat in the house. Luckily Frank is an indoor cat, and he didn't notice the bobcat outside!
That's all for now. I hope to bring you another estate sale soon. There haven't been too many in my target area so far this year!
Until the next time take care and thanks for stopping by!

Wow - what a week! The tornado warning was probably scary, glad it turned out ok.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to the capitol in years, went a few times with kids on a class trip. It's a beautiful building.
The bobcat is cool! But I don't know that I want one in my backyard. :)
Wow on the tornado alert. You were very calm. Now see, I'm not used to that and I wouldn't know what to do or think about it all. So glad it wasn't an issue. And another wow, on the bobcat. Good you keep your cat indoors! We were just talking about going down to Sacramento to tour the capital building there. The last time we were there, The Govenator was there.(Arnold Schwarzenegger)
ReplyDeleteI would have done the same thing with the tornado warning.
ReplyDeleteThis dome is so stunning. I was on the edge of my seat till I found out what you were going to do about the warning. What a relief that you stayed in the store. What were these other people thinking when they decided to leave the store and go outside in the worst place they could be?
ReplyDeleteYou've had an interesting week!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat would be scary with the tornado warning. Not sure what I would have done in that situation.
ReplyDeleteNot everyone has a bobcat come looking in their windows.
Do you get many tornadoes where you live? A scary alert, for sure.
ReplyDeleteAnd a bobcat in the yard. Yeah, if it smelled the housecat, it's not wanting to play!
How neat to see that bobcat just outside the window. Kinda scary too. A tornado warning scares me to death, even though I have never actually seen one. I like how you do the photo dump.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! A bobcat that close up!!! WOW!!
ReplyDeleteScary about the tornado warning and I'm glad it turned out well. Theat building is gorgeous. I love all of the architecture and details in older buildings. The bobcat is cute, but I don't want to see one in my backyard.
ReplyDeleteA bobcat is something you don't see (like ever!) We had a tornado warning here too, but fortunately we were all at home, so just went to the basement. All was well.
ReplyDeleteLoving the Bobcat! Cool shot!
ReplyDeleteFun dump, friend!
hugs
Donna
Ooh look at that bobcat!
ReplyDeleteWe always do our puzzles on a piece of cardboard.. makes them easy to move especially if we have company. I take forever to do puzzles. Ideally I'd want to do one a month but that never happens.
That's a good plan for saving the puzzle for later! Tornados are terrible, so thankful that all ended up being well for you during this one! Wow, a bobcat. Glad his cat is indoor, so no worries there! Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteI love that you didn't give up, and plan to go back to the puzzle soon.
ReplyDeleteDANG. The tornado warning is scary. I'm kinda laughing at you going outside, but also, GIRL, get into safety!
The Capitol building is gorgeous!
The bobcat is gorgeous.
Feels like you had a great time recently. What happened to the bobcat? Did it return?
ReplyDeleteMercy that experience at Meijer! Was that the day that many tornadoes did touch down in the Midwest and did lots of damage? Terrible. I think there are things you can buy just for the purpose of saving your puzzle until you are ready to work on it! I don't do jigsaw puzzles, preferring crossword puzzles, haaha! Much more portable. xoxo
