Woo Hoo!!

Between the shed gone and the neighbor taking his privacy fence down our backyard looks completely different!

The bad thing is this was in the wall:

We feel really bad :(

Weekly Winners

Caught Smudge in mid-meow! He wants outside really bad!

Does anyone know what this bush is? It is so pretty when it flowers.

The ugliest shed in the world and hopefully in a few weeks it will be gone from existence!

This little girl was just taking a stroll down the street the other day. One thing we have a lot around here is ducks because we live fairly close to a small creek.

Time to Get Busy

Today I had a very productive morning with my friend Marie. First we went to breakfast. Then over to Home Depot where I bought this:

That paint is for the master bathroom, the half bath and three ceilings.
Now I just have to get started. Looking forward to painting behind two toilets!!

I also inquired about replacing the master bath vanity top and sinks. Just the tops (what are they called?? counters just doesn't sound right) The oak vanity is in good shape and I am not about to replace something that doesn't need it. Unfortunately, they don't just do counters/tops/whatever. Not cost productive or something. Anyway, I just have to measure it and then order it. The one I picked out is really nice. The sink and counter all one piece, but the sink is white so they look separate.
Now I have to talk Rich into doing it!

We also made appointments at a local spa for massages, facials and manicures. We plan on having that in two weeks.

Plus we went to a local meat market where I bought ground round, cube stakes, and chicken breasts. I am not happy with the meat that I get at the grocery store so I thought I would give this place a try.

On the way home from dropping Marie off I saw a sign that a local church had their clothing bank open. I just happened to have a few bags of old clothes in my trunk so I stopped and gave them to them.

Then I was going to wash my car but just as I pulled up into the entrance the chain snapped and so they had to close. I'm glad it snapped before I got my car in there!

Oh well. Time to get busy!

Cats and Bargin Hunting

For the past few days we have had to isolate our cat Zoe because she has been spraying a little. She gets easily bothered by the other cats and won't tolerate their paying attention to her at all. Most of the time she will just growl or hiss or take a swipe at them but occasionally one of them (mostly Max) decides to chase her and she screams like a banshee and flys through the house. She has a tendency to spray or urinate when she is under duress. Anyway, we can't have her doing that all over the house so we fixed up the spare room for her. Cleaned it up and put in a litter box, a few comfy places to sleep, food and water and some toys. We closed her in it on Monday night, let her out to eat her canned food on Tuesday morning and closed her in again during the day when we were both at work. She seemed a lot calmer yesterday so we did the same last night and today. She doesn't really like to be closed up but it helps give her a respite from the other cats. We plan on doing this for a few days and see how well she does if we let her stay out again. I hope this helps her because getting rid of her is not an option. We love her too much.

TWO DAY LATER: Zoe has been doing really well. She seems a lot calmer. Today we left her out during the day with the other cats to see how she does. If she sprays at all we will lock her up again, for a longer time this time.

It's Friday at last/already. The weeks seem to go so slow but Friday is here before you know it. I have big plans on starting on painting the bathrooms this weekend. We'll see how it goes.

I am starting to notice garage sale signs popping up more now. Tis the season. Last year I didn't go too much garage saleing but this year I am going to look for beads to make stuff with. I am really starting to get into making jewelry with wire and beads. I love it and want to get good at it. I have a lot to learn and a lot of practicing to do because I am awkward and not really very good. But it's fun and I find it relaxing. Plus it's good hobby to have cuz I can make Christmas gifts and stuff.

I was reading on another blog about a giant flea marked that is held every Friday in Ohio. I would love to go to it some time. It's 4 hours away and with the price of gas these days..well we hesitate to drive that far. This gas gouging bullshit really pisses me off because I love taking road trips! Maybe if we give up groceries for a week we can afford the gas to go!!

Weekly Winners

I missed last week so I am posting early this week!!

I love to take pictures of my cats in the sunshine.

This is the hosta starting to come up; amongst the old from last year. Yeah, I did not do a good clean-up but soon the new will cover the old!

I love this little night light. The shade goes around and around and looks so pretty!

Finally some spring flowers! Gorgeous daffodils. This is the smallest bunch in my yard but the only one blooming so far.

All and Nothing

Well, we had a nice weekend.

Friday night dinner with the usual people. We ate at the California Pizza Kitchen. Their Mediterranean Salad is second to none!

Saturday Marie and I went to breakfast and then to check out the new JCPenneys by my house. It's a beautiful store. They are still celebrating their grand opening so there was good sales and a barbershop quartet singing in the aisles! I bought a pair of capri pants and a white shirt. I have a tendency to look dumpy in capris because I am so short (5"1") and they are always too long. I got these in the petite section and they are OK. I also tried to get a cute pair of sandals but they didn't have my size. The sized went from 8 to 9.5 and I wear a 8.5. Chris and Marissa came over that afternoon. they got the rest of their stuff out of the basement so we can finally get it cleaned up! I was showing Marissa all of my beading stuff and she made herself a little zipper pull. Good idea for something else for me to make. Saturday night we went to the casino. I got 4 deuces on the dollar machine and won $1000!. Woo Hoo!

Sunday was a pretty laid back day. I went grocery shopping in the morning. In the afternoon I went to the other JCPenneys and got the sandals I was looking for on Saturday. They actually had a 8.5. After I wore them around the house for a while I think I will take them back and get a 9! I may as well just get a size 9 from now on. I bought now pillows too. Good quality pillows for a change instead of cheap ones. They are so comfortable! In the afternoon Rich and I went for a walk. It was sunny but a little cold. It felt good though. Sunday evening Shauna came over for a while. I gave her the necklace I made for her and the earrings!

I put our old 27" TV on cr@igslist for free and it was gone in 60 seconds, I swear. Now I have my entertainment center listed for $30 and have gotten 2 emails so far. I hope someone buys it because it's sitting in the living room taking up space and I don't have anywhere else to put it. Plus, the cats are using it as a stepping block to get to the top of the china cabinet!

That's all for my exciting weekend. Today my co-worker is off and my supervisor is home sick so I'm on my own at work. It's not too busy so far. I sure would love to be able to retire!

Kitties in the Sunshine

This cold that I have had for two weeks now sure is persistent. Just when I start to feel better it comes right back. Friday I started to feel crappy again and now I'm coughing and stuffed up. Hopefully it will run it's course quickly and I will be all better soon.

Sunday we went out bought a new TV. Its a 40" Sony Wega HDTV. It's really nice. We also bought a stand for it because it would not fit in our entertainment center. The stand is really nice wood and black glass. Together they make a very nice piece of furniture. And the corner of the family room really opened up with that big entertainment center gone.

It was warm and sunny yesterday and the wind was blowing pretty hard. I opened the doorwall and the kitties all went crazy looking at all of the leaves and debris blowing around the backyard. Here's 5 of 6 cats looking out of the doorwall.

Tory was sitting in the sun further back. She's too old to be fooled by that stuff anymore!

We had someone come over to give us a estimate on new gutters for the house yesterday. It's not quite as expensive as we thought it would be so we'll probably have it done next week. The same person is going to tear down this ugly shed we have in our backyard, too. There will be pictures of course.

Oh yeah, and the Tigers are breaking my heart!

Weekly Winners

Been a busy week but the painting is done. My whole house was coated with dust because they had to do a lot of sanding in different spots. Spent all day Saturday cleaining it up. Next project is the bathroom and bedroom upstairs.

I was bored to tears Friday waiting for the painters to finish. I made 7 pairs of earrings. Here's what's left after I gave a pair each to Linda, Peggy and Marie.

I plan on giving a couple pairs to Shauna, too.

The living room and dining room look awesome, if a little plain right now. I don't know what pictures to hang yet. But it looks much better now, either way!

Now I just need to get better furniture!

Bored And Dusty!

I took the day off today so that the painters can finish up. As I sit here they are almost done. They are doing a clean up but there is a coating of dust throughout the house from all of the sanding. I have to say that it looks excellent! I really happy with the color I picked. All by itself it just looks white, but compared to white, it looks like a light beige! Exactly what I was hoping for!

Wednesday I started to feel like I had a cold coming on so I stopped at the store to get some Zycam. I have never used it before and it is supposed to help shorten the life of a cold or something. They happened to have it on "sale" ($7.88? gah!) so I bought the strawberry flavored chewable ones. I popped one in my mouth and for the first 2 seconds it actually tasted pretty good...then the real taste set in. God! It was everyghint I could do to finish chewing and swallow. It left a awful taste in my mouth and I was not supposed to drink anything for 15 minutes. The directions say to chew one every three hours, so three hours later I popped another one in my mouth. If it was possible, that one tasted even worse! I don't know, I just know that I can't eat another one! I wonder if they'll take them back at the store?

Because I was not able to leave the house today, I had time to finally work on my beading. I made 7 pairs of earrings. I actually enjoyed it alot and even designed a pair myself! I'll probably give some away.

April Fools Day

Today is my MIL's 90th birthday. Rich, Chris and Shauna went to the nursing home Sunday to celebrate with his family. I stayed home with the fumes...and the painters.

Well, the wallpaper "removal" is coming along well. I put removal in quotes because they are not completely removing the wallpaper. They are taking the vinyl off and leaving the paper backing that is glued to the wall. When I first realized they were doing this, I was a little concerned. I mean, we could have easily done that ourselves! But in order to leave that paper backing, they have to paint over it with a oil-based base coat and that I would NOT want to be doing! Its messy and stinky and a pain to clean up! They are doing a good job so far, though. There are spots where the paper was peeling off and I certainly hope that they smooth them out enough so they are not noticable. Oh well, I don't have to finish paying them until they are done and I am satisfied with the job.

I worry too much, Rich says. I personally think I'm reeling from paint fumes!

Phone Photo Dump

Time for another purge of the photos I collect on my phone!  The boys were playing with kinetic sand and it is a little oily.  Levi left hi...
